i phoned 3 in my area, for a 48k service and a cam belt,aux belt and all tensioners to be changed they all quoted around the £850 mark. they reckon on around 9 hours labour! phone them and ask. if id had known how much it was i would have brought one that would have been done.

and reno charge £850 for a cambelt and auxbelt change. make sure its been done before you buy it!

how bout a 52 silver 172 with 48k, had cambelt aux belt and tensioners done monday along with the 48k service, yours for 5700.

after reading lots of threads on having the cambelt changed i know that there is alot of specialist tools required but i need to know if there are any other parks i need for the? iv been to reno today and brought me a cambelt kit and a aux belt kit. do i need any seals or anything else...

i have a talek lite, only £70ish (lidl do them on offer sometimes for about £60) its small and doesnt stand out like a road angel. works a treat.

trust me mate iv done this in the past and the best advise you`ll get is it dont spend thousands messing about with it. keep it as it is, save up and then buy something better in a year or two.

i think it came in on an 02 plate, but if you have it there is a switch by the dimmer switch for the dash lights to turn it on and off.

if its on the outside and the wipers touch it then its illegal.
