Hi Lora, you don't have the engine and gearbox mounts do you? I'm after a set but I'm not bothered if they're a little worn, want to have a look at getting them modified... if they're still in the car no worries!
I've a fixed drivers seat and normal passenger seat (although it's in an old POS PH1 172), but I'm all about driving rather than looks. It keeps the back useable for the kids but lets me 'use' the car as well!
I've a motordrive bucket in as a drivers seat but use the standard belt as you've suggested here, had to modify the sidemount on the saet buckle side so the pretensior/buckle would bolt up to it nicely. The buckle I run through the inner harness cutout, just have to hold it out of the way when...
Russ, good luck with the sale... I doubt you'll be doing anymore testing with the vac canister size then?! (How bad is that waiting for someone else to test stuff!) Do you know what capacity the one you're using is, and did you try any other sizes before you put that one on?! The Jap boys...
Damn they are heavy... balls to that idea then, quite fancied getting mine looking stock from the outside but I'd be adding a shed load of weight over my 1.2s!
OZ F1's in 15's don't appear on the wheel weights list, at least they didn't last night!
Cheers guys!
I had one 'recommended' and I know the company is used by lots of other TB suppliers... couldn't find anything decent in the UK.
I'm assuming you've lost the front panel and bonnet release, so are running pins as well? Or is it still stealthy and stock looking?!
Paul looked after me when I was in dire need of getting rid of the superchip map that was on the car when I got it! Already spoken to him this morning ;)
Found me an intake manifold, just waiting for availability and price... DCOE bolt pattern so won't have the added expense of adaptors and unless I'm mistaken it's cheaper than the Jenvey one!
I've got a bucket seat in but with the pretensioner in use so am using that side of the wiring. The single wire/plug I'm assuming is an earth for the airbag which is shared via the loom with the pretensioner... can anyone confirm? I've got a resister setup in the airbag plug, the pretensior...
Sorry old thread, wasn't being rude not replying just hadn't subscribed... I wasn't driving you wouldn't have spotted me! Currently got an old black PH1
I bought mine on 91k and it was (and still is) in better condition than most I saw with 20-30k less miles, certainly better than all the PH2's I saw at nearly £1k more. Mileage isn't everything but most people don't seem to realise that!
I did this after a couple of weeks of owning the car, much, much better... still not perfect with stock seats but it's worth doing! Also running an aftermarket wheel with a 50mm spacer (or a dished wheel) makes a big difference to the driving position!
I went out looking to buy a PH2, but came home with a PH1... buy on condition, that's what I did and not only did I get a better condition car but it was a grand cheaper than any of the PH2's in almost as good condition.
He's got a TTS now, is popping in here tomorrow! :)
Guy that bought his S3 had a small 'off' in it shortly after buying it so I'm told.
Keep trying to get JC into a 997Twin but he's not bitten yet, done some work on big turbos with those seeing circa 700whp!
note: Golf's already sold!
If you want to spend all your money then look at the Trophy and hope you can sell it on without too much depreciation when you're done. Look at the price of the PH1 and PH2 172, they're pretty low and the 182 then 197 then 200 will go the same way. You're obviously at the start of your car...
Saw you both on Saturday, Lora you were sat waiting to pull out into the horrific traffic outside Cuba. anc7y you heading up the parade. Both cars look great!
Mine had the KTek Stealth (silenced centre as well) on when I got it, way to much of a drone for my liking... although it was never going to help it's not much worse with the decat on now.
They're not fast enough to warrant stupidily loud exhausts!
Hi Steve,
I've come from a background of 'higher' performance cars, and play with lots of cars through work. Bought my PH1 late last year as a daily driver to get me out of the company car. Was working to the same budget as well. Hadn't really considered a PH1, the PH2 looking a little newer...
The seating position is pretty sh*t, the washer removal helps but it's still a little high. To be honest though it's something you live with, I had the same problem with my old TME Evo but again you get used to it!
I bought my PH1 end of November to get out of the company car scheme. I was in an A3 Sportsback 1.8T Sline (running around 235bhp 280ftlb but still boring). Now I'm back in my own car I see just under £450 after tax more a month.
Depends on your options though I have the choice of a company...
I was looking at spending upto around £3500 when I bought mine a month or so back, saw loads of PH2 172s... no cups that were worth buying though. Found a really nice PH172 with low mileage in great condition and bartered down to £3200 but then bough a much higher mileage PH1 for a hell of a lot...
