clio 1.2 8v mk2 ph1 x reg. when turning right around a roundabout or at faster speeds around a right hand corner, the revs drop right down as if the car is trying to stall, and the stop light and coolant light come on. this is only when turning right, all is ok when going left.

im not sounding stupid when i say this (or trying not to), but have u cleaned the car since this has happened and then tried to make the fault re-occur?
i only say this cause i find it strange to beleive that it would come from the exhaust as the air is gettin forced in a horizontal direction...
do renault suffer from this aswell do they? pug, citreon and bmw suffer with it aswell. as a repair, we cut the plug out and fit a new plug on, but as a quick diy job u can cut the plug out and crimp the wires together
im not sure how the renault system works, but on bmw they have a ribbon on the top of the steering wheel before the steering wheel. this is for the airbag so when u turn the wheel right round it doesnt loose any connections etc. we get the prob every once in a blue moon that they catch an can...
ha ha ha, my bad. that needs an extra large tub of elbow grease, an maybe some KY aswell :rasp:
seein as the ball joint has actually snapped, can u get some oxycetaline on it?
what?
the airbag light will turn on when starting the vehicle almost as a sign to say that its switched on. it should then turn off after a few secs. if its constantly illuminated it means that there is a fault in the sytem somewhere and it needs to be resolved for the airbags to be most...
if its leaking air it would prob run like a dog and it may not be any noisier! one way to find out is when its runnin, loosen the oil filler cap and see if there is any change to the idle of the car (watch out for oil flinging out tho).
would like to think that if its a sensor fault then it...
why dont u swap the tyres fron to back and see if theres any change? check for feathering on the tyres aswell. does it pull to one side or does it do it both ways?
ha ha, if u have serious piston failure, prob better concentrating on getting that sorted instead of buying an alloy catch tank to prevent a fire....;)
its a hard call really. if the mount does not support the exhaust system, is coroded or damaged then it prob will fail the test.... depends how observant the tester is tho!! on the other hand, if u cant see it, you cant fail it
my anti-roll bar link/bushes snapped on my clio, but it only became noisey when cornering? prob best bet to get the car checked over when u take it to get the bushes done, an if u dont need to drive it between times, walk instead!
bit of elbow grease is all u need. u could always get a ball joint splitter to do the trick?!
ive always used a pry bar to force the ball joint seating apart, then hit the bottom arm towards the back of the car until it starts moving, then start swinging from a ma-hoosive levering bar..... but...
depends if the leak is before the second 02 sensor. if so then its taking a false reading to the ecu an could be causing it to missfire or run poor..... that is if there are 2 sensors before and after on the 172????
might jus be the way i do things.... but cutting off the original belt is a bit kwik-fit style. at least if u remove it in one u can refit it if uve been presented with the wrong bits, or compare lengths to the new belt? each to their own i suppose tho
so, u could wire the headlights to the indicator to get a flash in time with the indicators but the draw back would be that they'd turn on when u lock and unlock the car.
bit of a sparkys job, but id imagine (as other cars have this), when u unlock the car you "wake up" a main control unit or...
multiple valves have decided to take a new direction in life, mainly the wrong way. aux belt snapped an went behind the crankshaft, then trapped in the cam belt makin it all jump teeth! not a good look
hi guys, i am the proud owner of a 1.6 16v clio on the mk2 phase 1. ive done a few subtle mods to it, nothin over the top, just made it look smart. for this reason, i want to keep her but......
....... the engine has broked!!!
i know that most of u will say "fit a 172/182 lump into it", which...
i had a mk1 before my clio. blew it up at 115mph, rebuilt it myself with kent cams springs and valves, ported the head, vernier pulley, uprated performance igniton, 4 branch manifold, mk2 adjustable coilovers, lower strut brace, list goes on,
anyway, it went like stink!!!! an it cornered like...
i got a 1.6 16v v reg mk2 first phase clio, an i know most of u wil say get a 2.0l conversion, but i have to keep it 1.6 for certain reasons. i jus want info on whats the best cylinder head to fit tho, to make it perform better? can i fit the 2.0l 172 cylinder head on, or will it change anything...
