Nope.. fixed it.. It was the leads.. I tried a new coil pack, and it got worse, So i assumed it was the leads (as i moved them fitting the coil pack). So got new leads.. Still the same issue..
However, i thought I just would try the old coil pack to rule out each element. Old coil pack + new...
Once it goes over 4K its like it hits a wall, or there is no more fuel coming though or power allowed thru (cat??)? It pulls fine until juts over 4K
Any ideas, I have changed the coil pack and leads, and there is no engine management light?
knock?/lamda sensors?
Cheers
Will have look this weekend.. but yep.. i think that the one that is knocking, I may do all three again (the dogbone is powerflex so will have a look first) just to tighten it all up again.
Anyone remember the site where you can get the gearbox mounts for £18?
Yep, I just cannot see the other end of where the nut is, or get my mits up to feel for it. (or that it could actually be missing!, hence I cannot find it.) Should it require tourque on both ends to do up?
After playing chase the donk noise, replaced ball joints, then put on solid top mounts the next weakest leak in the chain (gearbox mount) appears to have shown its hand on acceleration or braking.
I took out the battery, and first noticed the back bolt on the tray (to the chassis) was loose, so...
Its on a cup.. so its a std light.
The left light has gone, so i have purchased a replacement.. But this doesn't work. The sidelight still works (and that looks to come out the same block) And all the other lights are the car are fine.
The light works in the other light :)
Later I will test...
Prefect Fred.. emailed you to confirm.. Can you send out today if you get payment?
When I was at a few Honda based track days with the s2000, a few DC5 owners had fronts tracks only, i assumed, especially with the clio that all the weight is over the front, and the power/steering that it would...
Where the cheapest place to get FERODO DS2500 at the mo?
and Anyone tried Hankook RS2 for track work?
Also.... It it worth just getting track tyres for the fronts, and sticking with the standard PE2 on the rear.. I have seen quite a few people do this on other cars?
I too (cannot afford coilovers at the mo) would also like to know the exact same things.. Are the 'own brand' ktecs any good.. Also pics of these on a cup please..
In a white clio (cup)? with black wheels the new shape giving it full beans towards Priston (just out side of Bath) on say night about 7-8pm.
You were defiantly on it...
Because out of the box its excellent, such a brilliant piece of engineering.
That however doesn't mean it cannot be improved.
All i am saying is that if you take a non trophy, add some excellent suspension, do NOT slam it to the deck, and get it setup correctly.. it will be pretty good.
ok.... very good, that made no sense..
Maybe I should write out 100 times.
There will be no suspension ever better than the trophy setup....
There will be no suspension ever better than the trophy setup....
There will be no suspension ever better than the trophy setup....
...
fair enough, if you think the trophy suspension, fitted the the same shell as all the other clios can never ever be eclipsed.. then that is fine..
All the bushes, swing arms etc are 100% the same, just the shocks, springs are different.. Heaven forbid they could ever ever be bettered with...
how many years ago was that.. All i am saying is that the tech would have got better and cheaper now.
So it is possible that some correctly setup (corner weighed etc) £500 gaz shocks could do just a good a job.. Or be to the point where you and i could not tell the difference.
But, putting some really nice coil overs and NOT lowering it too the deck ,should give you excellent handling.. Just because the Trophy suspension cost X amount years ago, doesn't mean that the tech has been improved, and is also now cheaper.
There is no reason that i can see that a set of...
my ph1 172 died, was not happy for about 15k miles.. crunchy going into 3rd at high rpm.
the cup (on 68k) is all ok at the mo, thou sometimes (when cold) doesn't want to go into 3rd straight away, it goes in, but a little more resisent than normal.. However i look for these things now... :)
