Guys, it seems the black plastic gearbox cover has come loose on my 1.4 rt. Its attatched fine at one end but other end seems to clip in then drop again. Please say this just clips back in or is it broken?? HELP PLEASE!!

This happened to me last year in my 2005 1.2. There wasnt even any visable damage from the outside and then I realised that the boot had been pushed in crushing the spare, had a whole new boot pan put in and new bumper, all through insurance. Its no way going to be a write off

I have done, today I bought a new cap for the expansion tank as I heard it hissing a little last week. I have run engine with cap off until the fan kicked in to free any air in the system, I then topped up and put new cap on. Still worried it may be headgasket as thats what peolple keep saying

Seems to still be going down but now slower, still cant trace any leak, I have no other symptoms but could it be the geadgasket?? HELP

Get used to it mate, Renault changed my sunroof and it still did it, its bad design. My old N reg clio that im using now has less creeks and rattles than my 2005 1.2 did LOL:)

Hi, my mk1 RT seems to squeal a little on start up. Is it hard to adjust the tension on the belt as ive been told tightening it will cure it. Could someone post a little guide if poss cheers

Surley I would have other symptoms if the headgasket was on its way out?? If not should I replace it now before anything worse happens??

Yeah I thought that so today I started up with cap off, heaters on max and ran for a bit to try and get rid of any air. Then topped up to required level. Hopefuly this will make a difference. Any other ideas??
