After 12 years and 140,000 miles in my Megane, it's time to say goodbye and swap for a larger family bus.
The Megane has been pretty good over the years, the only issues I've had were with the window electrics (a cheap ebay fix once a year or so) and a replacement clutch. Aside from that it's...
We had four weeks touring around the west coast of the USA this summer and came back with a mountain of photos. I thought I'd share a couple. Taken on a mix of iPhone and Canon 5DII (24-105 & 70-200 f2.8LII).
For the first week, we hired a Camaro SS at LAX and had planned to spend a couple of...
I was lucky enough to have been travelling around this month. The first trip was to Manilla for work. I didn't take my camera as I wasn't sure whether it was that safe, or whether there would be anything to take pictures of so made do with my iPhone.
The centre of town was just busy and big...
I have a list of log in and log out times per user, and need to know the maximum number of users logged in per day.
The data looks like this... I want to know that on the 29/06/2013, there was a maximum of x users as user 1001 had logged out before user 1004 had arrived etc.
Any ideas on...
I can muddle my way through SQL queries, but now I have to use MySQL.
Can anybody tell me what I should be using for the IN clause in the below SQL query to make it work in MySQL?
Select *
FROM xxx
WHERE MACHINE.NAME IN 'xxx0001','xxx0002','xxx0100')
Cheers!
My Systems manager is off on holiday for three weeks and I don't want a project to get stuck for the duration.
I know there are a fair number of IT'ers here, does anybody use Kace to manage software/ image distribution? I need to pick some brains.
Cheers,
Andy
The updates screen takes upto 5 minutes to load since I updated to 6.1.2.
I've tried on wifi at work, wifi at home and 3G all with the same results.
Has anybody else got the same problem?

I've just started a project at work to introduce iPads for our management team. One of the things I wanted was to be able to use the iPads for presentations and to be able to share documents on the beamers. I have an Apple TV at home which is great but buying an Apple TV for every meeting room...
I was given the chance to tag along with a Hangar visit today at work. I thought I'd share the snaps in case anybody here was interested.

I have six internal drives in my PC, and need to swap one (F: 1TB) for a 2TB one. I have already copied the files over to the 2nd disk using an external E-SATA case but the PC will not boot without F: being plugged in. I have to same with a couple of the others too.
Configuration:

I had a play in Lightroom this evening to track down some images and was surprised by how many photos I've taken over the years.
I thought it might be interesting to see what other people are up to as there is quite a mix of people on CS from pros to people who shoot as a hobby, so please add...
How do you/ your company deal with privacy of personal files on the network?
We had a problem this week with somebody who has saved a load of p**n photos on their personal network share. One of our Sys admins ran a report to identify duplicate files and this user popped up as he had duplicated...
Last night I managed to go full r****d and formatted the wrong drive in my PC. I managed to loose 800GB of various files (none of which are important, but all of which are handy) and wanted to know if anybody here had successfully used software to recover files after a format.
From a quick...
I took my phone in to the apple store today as the camera has a yellow hue in the centre of all shots and the home button stops working periodically. I thought that I had picked it up at the end of June last year, but it turned out I was wrong and I actually had it since the 29th of April.
The...
Just a heads up for people so that nobody else has to go through the same hassle...
We took our kids to the zoo at the weekend so the camera came along too. I took son#1 to the toilet and hung my camera bag on the door handle so that I wasn't on the floor. He was just about done and I heard...

Does anybody here use Bloxx or Clearswift (either as admin or users)? We are looking at a change and I was after some feedback from anybody who may have used either in the past couple of years.
Thanks!
I was at Zolder yesterday as the line up sounded interesting and it's not too far away. I bought my camera along as I haven't done any track work for a couple of years. It's a pity that almost all of the decent spots for shots are behind fencing.
Some photos for anybody interested...
Interesting stuff!

This is an ethical request - my boss passed away at the weekend and he kept all his passwords in a word document. It is password protected to open it and I need to get access to various systems and files with his credentials.
Google brings up a million and one programs that say that they can...
Stumbled across this just now and thought I would share.

I'm just about to reinstall windows and can't remember the name of the site which creates a package of all the software that you normally add (firefox, notepad++, vlc, 7Zip etc).
I saw it first mentioned on here but can't find it again. Anybody point me in the right direction?
Cheers!
I stumbled across this, and prompted by some recent personal experiences, thought I would share. It offers some pretty fair guidelines.
