    172 import or not (URGENT)

I wouldn't be worried if it's an import or not. Mine is. :) Buy on condition and if you feel strongly about it then use the fact it's an import as a bartering tool. Insurance for me is identical, and when I have been offered p/x not one trader has even noticed it's an import. Cheers, Dave

Thanks guys, i'll get some now. :)

    Rainex?

This stuff is/was excellent, lasted months between applications, much better than rainX IMO. Can you still get it? I tried looking for months, but have given up now. :dapprove: RainX works well at speed, but the Clios screen is a little too upright for the water to bead correctly below 50 or...

    Mph 06

Hi guys, I'm pleased some of you saw it anyway, it's been my car since last July. It makes a good chase car and camera platform for our company (www.fastfilms.co.uk) ;) . I've been to 10 or more shows this year, will be more next, come over and say hi next time you see it, always...

Very nice, but you don't want a Hague mount ;)

First effort at long shutter shots

Ah, that explains it (the not waving) LOL Take a look on my site, let me know if I can help with the mount. :) First attempt at night shots, so again, be as critical as you like, i'd like to learn. I like 5, 8 and 10 personally. Cheers :)

First effort at long shutter shots

Thanks again :) I've never been into stills very much, this is the first decent camera i've owned tbh. I bought it specifically for this type of shot though, having seen some really good photos online. As posted above, we sell and work with video equipment, almost always using bullet cameras...

First effort at long shutter shots

I shall do my best.... :) ukaskew - Was I driving at the time when you saw the car? I always make a point of waving at other RSs, although don't often get a wave back. :dapprove: Thanks for the compliments, the car is looking better since I had it back from the bodyshop yesterday (for the...

First effort at long shutter shots

I bought a new Canon Powershot S3 IS last month, and thought i'd have an experiment this evening with long shutter settings, together with our pump cup and double ball tilt head mount. It was getting dark, I set it to a 1 second exposure, pressed the 10 second delay shutter and hopped in the car...

30+ Trax Pics def no 56k!

Anyone have any pics of my Clio (on the Fast Films stand)? Hi to all I met from here. :)

    TRAX, thank you!

Hi to the guys who came over and said hi on my trade stand, i did try to get over to see the Clios on the hill, but got about half way and turned around again as my stand was too damn busy. :S I noticed a few people took some piccies of my 172 with the camera mounts all over it, anyone from...

    Stolen 172 Sport

I know what you mean, but personally i'd sooner leave the keys downstairs. If people are desperate enough to break in to your house when they know you are there, I suspect they will think nothing of using violence. I'd rather them have the car and be safe (much as I love my cars).

    Green induction kit for sale

LOL, I know what you mean, but we went from three vehicles to two, and although the Clio is mine, she does have to drive it and occasionally take clients to conferences etc. and the noise was a problem! :)

    Green induction kit for sale

Hi Lewis, Ordinarily I would give you a price happily, it's just that I need to get my new ebay user id up to 10 or more feedback, before I can start my ebay shop. My personal account has loads of sales/purchases, but the user name is totally unsuitable! As a result, i'll probably have to...

    Green induction kit for sale

Hello, I've listed my green cotton kit for sale on ebay, has just come off my phase 2 172 - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Green-cotton-induction-kit-for-clio-sport_W0QQitemZ120024399282QQihZ002QQcategoryZ36680QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem I've gone back to using a panel filter (my...

Does this sound like temperature sensor failure?

Yup, same symptoms I had, I tried the fix as suggested, and tried cable ties around the wire which wirked for a while, but the problem came back. Keep an eye on your mpg too, I was losing about 5mpg on average! Didn't cost me much to have it fixed at the main dealer. :)

    172 cup oil

I just changed my oil and filter yesterday and bought a washer from Halfords (generic Renault one) and the 'proper' one from Renault. They are the same size, the Renault one has the rubber insert as you mentioned, the part no. is R77 00 266 044 (01A06D Washer) priced at £2.50 + VAT!!! I...

    172 cup oil

Because it's better? A lot depends on whether you track the car and how often your oil is changed I guess. Personally i'm happy using Silkolene Pro S in my cars. :)

    182/Trophy For 20k Miles A Year?

Nothing wrong with the Alfas IMO, i'm a big fan of these and Fiats. The 156 has better build quality IMO and more interior space obviously. It also has the benefit of far lower revs at 80mph motorway cruising and so quieter as a result. On the upside, the 182 has cruise control and other nice...

    172 on a.......

No, the instructions on my can don't mention the jack at any point, simply putting the puncture at the lowest point, so the foam will flow into the hole. I found I lost a fair bit before it sealed, then it worked well, and WELL in excess of the recommended 50mph limit (It was whilst I was...

    172 on a.......

Yup, i've ran like this since I bought it. I made up a simple MDF 'coffee table' to go underneath the boot lining so I can still place heavy items in there. I have had two punctures in the last year, one that was fixed by the foam, and one that completely shredded the tyre on the M6 on a...

    172 spin at Spa

Hi guys, Thought you might be interested in this short clip of my first and so far only spin on a trackday. http://www.aqualifeleasing.co.uk/images/Clio%20172%20spin%20at%20Spa06.mpg I was filming for individual clients at Spa back in June, and as you can see, it was wet and had been...

    Next Car?

Not sure what mine will be, I keep chopping and changing my mind. Children will be coming along sometime next year, so a bigger car along the lines of an Octavia VRS or Accord Type R may be on the cards. If not I may look at getting a sensible family car plus a track toy like a Fisher Fury. I...
