Dunno what your asking guy? its £5500 to go in my bank...so i can use as deposit.
Things are never depressingly boring, all these people who have posted who bought at 20,21,22 all have serious girlfriends no doubt :D
Well looks like a very lucky renault dealer will be having the steal of the century :D MONDAY!
well I can easily afford to keep car, but the extra 5k on my deposit is very very tempting, not quite but almost like getting the house with a garage...or just 'allocated parking' if you know what i...
seen a few 2002 on autotrader, private for 6995...
have been on there for weeks. Think nearer 6k is more ideal
http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/77005.htm :)
hmm the first lot of replies made me think blow it! 5.5k is 5.5k extra for me
but now everyone is turning against sellin it!
a spanner thrown in the works is im going on a cheap 2 week holiday...so ill be leavin my car sat doin nothing whilst payin half a month to insure for nothin, i.e...
How much of a deposit did you have Keydogg? 2 bed semi down here are about £140k. Im gonna need at very least 2 spaces (or pray for a garage!)
£5500 would be nice to add to my deposit, but then...dont think long term its going to make a huge difference as my only interest is cars and later on...
Kinda hoping people would say "take the £5500" but that really is rock bottom lowest possible its worth I reckon
2002 52, 30k, 1 prev. owner, 6months tax/mot, mint like new.
Defo not going the private sell route, hate the thought! Guess that goes to show just how badly im 'not' really...
Basically im 21
I would like a house, 2 bed so i can spend on things like fridges/plasma tvs etc :D
I have had a 172 for 7months, its OK. If someone said "here have £6200" i would take it as I can use my van.
I have savings for a house, but going nowhere fast. Insurance is a pain, £145...
My car is possibly for sale if any of your g/f's or family are amazed by yours :D
2002 iceberg silver, 30,200 miles, fRsh, 6 months tax/mot, immaculalte like brand new. Expect to get £6250 easy. I paid 2k more than that but hey, main dealers are like that :D
soon to buy first house :)
Yes, small world! I am CJ :D
Fletch- 44mpg!! i did online calculator for mpg (as dont beleive the obc is 100% accurate)
over 3 months average I do is 35.5 so not bad at all, I dont drive my car enough for fun!
always see RE05 black 182 nr shedfield/wickham way - dont know if you are on here.
somebody mentioned bitterne? I did a job near Northfield Rd and saw a guy loading up his black 182?
Heres my car:
Wont see me ragging it much tho, proud of this at the mo:
611 miles since i...
Hmmm i think i must be odd!
I use it every night, 20miles round trip...half of it is 60mph roads
firstly, have had mk2 172 for 4months...never been above 6k rpm!
secondly, can go a few weeks without thrashing!
I always worry bout the clutch? cant imagine changing gear quickly at 7krpm...
less than 6months old with 10k on shaun, dont do it, go private, you have the exact same warranty/come back
trophys keep their value yes, but inchcape 'value' is something totally different! that car lost the vat as soon as the 1st owner (prob demonstrator) owned it so clearly they got it for...
Red supercharged Saxo shaun, ive heard of that! remember your pal ollie in his 5GTT mention race him down thomas lewis way ages ago?
I only use my 172 eves/weekends so not seen many at all!
have seen a nice blue 172/182, quite a few changes, colour coded front splitter (maybe k-tec)...
Fletch know its a common prob but why did you have the mounts replaced? what was your actual prob with the car?
Im not gonna go on about inchcape, if you choose to go there, very best of luck. im no 'fussy' 'stuck up' or nit picking person...just expected good service, good advice etc.
Alrite shaun! Yea im from southampton way so hello all!
Got my 2002 iceberg 172 from Inchcape late Nov 05.
Never going to use them...ever again! Bunch of low life lying, caniving, money grabbing, uncaring...idiots! And thats ref. the general manager Giles, and the no.1 salesman Andy. :)...
Anybody actually had theirs done at renault or independant garage?
someone once mentioned "bearings too" with the rear discs?!
I heard i wont have any change out of £200 but isnt that alot for standard style rear disc/pads...REAR only.
Seen a few Mintex disc/pad set-ups for £89! on...
Where would I get a 2002 172 Continental 16" 50 profile tyre OFF THE SHELF?
i wondered if renault would keep them?
Also, its only a screw about 30mm long, number 8 i think.
Is that able to be repaired? Shame cos i planned on alloys ASAP :(
Well my 3rd and final attempt.... SUCCESS!!!!
cutting long story short, i am amazed how simple it is.
basically, the plunger part of the switch (twist and remove - v.easy!)
has a ratchet. Each ratchet is say 1mm
All i needed was for the switch to be about 3mm shorter.
After a quick...
New switch maybe, but i cant honestly see how a switch like that wears out!
its either pedal adjustment or the simple fact the switch needs to be about 2mm further away from the pedal
could just file off 2mm from the plastic switch (far right in pic :P)
ppppppplease HELP! somebody must know
if its as simple as screwing something in/out I dont intend on taking a whole day off work so stealer can fiddle!
somebody must know an exact how to :(
THANKS!
Another thread about
*Rear brake lights dont light unless braking quite hard*
and when in traffic, light braking means the rear brake lights dont ever light!
Surely somebody has this too + I know its a common prob.
(just havent the time to go to dealer :( for such a minor thing)
Mine look the same - rust wise.
Renault said they only do approx 20% of the overall braking
and that the rust on them looked bad but they still have 0.4mm life left which occording to them is 40% so should go on another 20k at least
hahah!
im on the look out for new rear discs but...
