Thats good news... I dont know what theyll charge for labour but hoping it wont be too much more. Ill try the breakers for the sub... Presumably they sort out all the geometry as well at the same time
Curbed my 172 a short while back and think the sub frame may be very slightly twisted. Any one know how much Renault charge to replace (I would only want to do it at Renault for the guarantee). Isnt it just a case of lifting the engine taking the old one off and bolting on a new one? Im not sure...
Well, I decided to go with Renault in the end... they quoted me 263 + Vat to fix the sump on which I thought was OK. I phoned round a few local mechanics but in the end thought it was safest to stick with renault as at at least Id get a guarantee on the work. fingers crossed will get my motor...
I curbed my 172 a couple of weeks ago and cracked the sump (among other things)... I bought a new sump and am trying to take the old one off but having unscrewed the whole thing (nightmare considering the positions of some of those torx screws) found that you cant get the blessed thing out...
Unlucky... Its my first track day ever so really want enjoy it and get the best out of the ca without damaging anything!
telford_mike thanks for the advice...
Ive just booked my first track day with my MK2 172. I want to get the best out of the car so does anyone have any advice on setting up the car e.g. tyre preassure, engine setup and any other tips?
