Where did it connect to the box?Update, not that anybody cares, but it might help someone if they have a similar problem.
I checked all fuses and relays under the bonnet and everything had a good clean, changed the decoder ring thingy around the key but none of this worked. So i went hunting for a broken earth, checking all earths I could find, two behind the passenger headlight, the strap between the gearbox and the chassis but couldn't find anything wrong until I removed the wheel and arch liner to check the earth coming out the loom and going to the back off the gearbox and hey pressto i found this!
Fixed it back to the gearbox and it started first time :smile:
