You can drive without an exhaust, will just be a tad loud lol. Is the rest of the car back in one piece now?

I'm up to 115k and 17k on the engine now :grinning:

At least it's keeping the mileage down.
Very true!

Gutted and wow at the patience.

Where's the car now mate?
It's in Glastonbury mate, awaiting a bit more fabrication and assembly.

Glad you're up and running and munching through the miles! The Trophy is still in bits mate.

I miss my trophy as well, at least yours is coming back!!
Missing the wee red beastie, are you? You should have kept it... :tonguewink:
Well, I hope mine is coming back. I'm not so sure! LOL!

Didn't realise you'd spent that much on it? Wow!
I know! He got lucky with that bargain...

Unfortunately the amount for the engine isn't far off 🙈
:unamused: Ouch. I can sympathise!

SharkyUK, do you remember which ARP flywheel bolts you buy?
I'm not actually sure mate. @NorthloopCup - any ideas what Steve used buddy?

They're an M9 thread pitch and I think they're available from SBD Developments mate. I hope you're sitting down though, as they're the most overkill item you could ever wish to purchase! Lol! Snapping flywheel bolts is thankfully not something the f4r does.

February 2017 - Update

Very little to report right now but - in the interests of keeping this thread going and keeping track of what's happening - the new clutch arrived the other day (after the other one got damaged in unfortunate circumstances). The exhaust is still a bit of a problem hence a different provider is being approached with the plans / spec. With a bit of luck things will soon pick up again. I really don't want to miss out on the events and drives / tours this year.

Here are a few photos of #165 from the 'early years' before the serious engine troubles began.

Rolling back to 2007, a week or two after I bought her...

It's quite sad when a grown man (debatable!) is pining for his Clio to come home! 😊

February 2017 - Update #2

A very quick update... it's been a bit of a pain in the ass trying to get someone to design and build my new exhaust. The guy who was originally doing it is simply too busy (or not interested) and responses from other places haven't been great either. As a result, Dan simply decided to order the various bits and pieces and he will be making the exhaust himself. At least I know it will get done now. :)

Dont know if its worth a try mate there is a place in worcester called A44 exhausts. They do a cracking job and i have seen a lot of classic road and various race cars in there.

Nice to see some of the early pics of it. Great pics as usual

Sad it's not finished.
I was going to suggest pro speed in Cardiff as he does proper bespoke systems apparently.
At least it's sorted for Dan to do now.

Is it just the exhaust and mapping etc holding it up now?

Got driven once as well, admittedly not by you on this occasion :tonguewink: (Russ i think):
:p Yeah, Russ has probably spent as much time behind the wheel of #165 as I have!

Cheers Dan.

I've got a custom ProSpeed exhaust on it already but it needs to come off. I need a new one made to measure as it will need to work / fit with my revised fuel system. The ProSpeed will be sold (fantastic exhaust it is, too).

There are still a few bits to do yet mate. The exhaust was a bit of a blocker so that will soon start to progress. Same with the damaged clutch; the new one has arrived so all good there. It all has to be transplanted and put back in yet along with the new loom and ECU / dash.
