I've just been onto SKy about this. Asked to cancell - he offered me 25% off part of my package - giving me a £8 discount.

I have declined - awaiting the better offer - he has cancelled it. No better offers available he said. Best wiat to see if I get this 50% off email now! I dont want to lose my Sky! haha

I got the offer this morning when I logged into my account on sky. I cancelled a couple of weeks ago, so can take a while.
Followed the advice on here and got 50% off the packages, 35% of my HD subscription and £50 Credit on my account. Result.

Being contract free, does that mean you will permanently only pay your 50% or does it rise after 12 months?

Also, these 50% deals, is that just off TV packages or does it include broadband/ phone?

So, just cancelled my Sky TV package based upon the details on here. Was offered just 20% off (£6.05) for being a customer for over 10 years. If this doesn't work then the wife will go garety at me. Albeit it seems the discounts they offer are only on the TV packages. I get the impression this won't have effect to the HD package I'm paying which gets me the F1.

New customer, deal just ran out & they want to bum me for £106 a month now.
Cancelled, looked in my Sky ap 50%, phoned cancelling contract as of 14 Sept.
They called me to offer everything I had for £74.
Going through with cancellation as been told they will cave in.

I'm moving at some point in the next 2 months and not sure if it's better to move or start a new contract. I'm currently out of my contract and just ticking over and I have the most basic package which I think I pay around £24.

Any suggestions?

Just been on live chat after receiving my 50% off deal in my home page. (That was really quick) but clicked on it to redeem the offer and it automatically accepts without giving clear indication of exact costs or any upgrade info. Live chat guy said would now be exactly half for my package but couldn't authorise anything else. Looks like a call to Sky in the week to try for the £50-£100 credit on the bill like others have got.

Thanks though to those though who've posted about this. I've saved £266 due to this thread.
Others I'm sure are far more.

Just had an interesting chat with Sky. Played the game as described by @eugegall so ive cancelled. They offered me my same package (everything but movies/sports) for an extra £6 a month, but assured me that was the best they could do. Will now wait for my email to come through asking me to come back for 50% off. They did say long standing customers get better deals, but i just cracked on and cancelled.

Worst case scenario, i'll get my better half to take out a new package.... watch this space

Where do i get this 50% offer? do i click on "Emails" ?

You won't get an email mate.

Log into your Sky account now and the offer should be there staring at you. Might take a day or two to register if you've just cancelled but keep checking.

When you've got the 50% off thing showing you need to chat online with them and basically just ask for more.

Simples.

The Hampton I had on live chat last night told me it'll be 50% off all my package, so £22 and he said it was still in cancelled mode.
I get an email this morning saying thanks for staying and my premium is £27+.
Fortunately I've a screen dump of the advisor saying £22 so on the phone yesterday.

Going to get my dad to give this a try. So just call and cancel and then in couple of days if you log into the account it should be there.

He has been with Sky for about 10 years at least and has been paying full whack. Such a con.

Ok, so carried on with @eugegall advice... logged into my sky account today and clicked on the blue button which says something like "accept this offer" then i went into a chat because i wanted to adjust my package. Got the following

Box sets
Sports
Full HD
£50 credit

For £35.75 a month. This includes 50% off everything, even HD. Pretty chuffed with that. Thanks again !

I'm out of contract and need to do this. Was the offer literally on there the next day? Did they even get to disconnect you? i.e. if I cancel today, i'll still have up to the end of the month which I've paid for and then can accept the new deal before disconnection?

It was on there the same day. I cancelled in the morning and it was on there when i went and checked after dinner. Its so easy, literally follow the foot steps.... Try and sort a deal when cancelling, if they wont do 50% off, plus £50 credit, just cancel. Then log into your sky account and it will be there on the home page saying its not too late, come back.

I've just got a fab deal after cancelling it 6 mths ago

£20 per month for movies and kids package, pay nothing till end of November and then £20 until July.

They also supplied a new box too!

Last 12 months I was paying £25 for sky in 2 rooms plus £11 to bt for bt sport on sky. Once the deal ran out this went up to £50 so I went through the cancellation process and was offered £5 discount.

Went through with the cancellation and got bt tv, top package including bt sport for £10 a month. Even has but sport 4K, but I don't have a 4K tv. Only channels I'm missing really are sky 1, Atlantic and arts.

My package last year was £52 for everything they do, inc HD, Sky go extra, unlimited fibre & calls, cinema, sports & box sets etc.
Came back from holiday to find my bill had jumped to £104, told them to cancel.
50% waiting when I logged on.
Week or two later win back team got in touch, they could get to £87.
Told them No deal.
Five days before I am due to be cut off log in 60% off everything so call up to see what the deal was.
During this convo I mention I had signed up to BT so the deal better be worthwhile.
Final outcome £65.
People new to sky get all the deals like I got previously (Mse) but playing the 'game' can be worthwhile you just have to hold out.

I do find it funny that people bang on about Sky saying it's amazing yet nobody seems to be willing to pay the going rate for it.
