Track seats for the bigger chap?

Ok so I've got the 182 as a road legal track car and my mate who pretty much drives it half the time on track anyway wants to throw in and go half on the car so shared ownership, makes sense instead of me paying for it and it'll give me £800 back (half the purchase price) and then 50/50 on everything going forward.

Anyway he's a bigger chap, not a fatty but just wide backed/shouldered and wide legged at 6ft/18.5st. In contrast I'm quite slim (in comparison) 6ft/13st, so obviously we'll be needing a XL seat if fixed back but i don't want to be rattling around in it so what would be the options? Inserts? Sports seats like Recaro's? Or would a 4 point harness pin me in a bigger seat anyway?

I use an STR bucket seat from McGill Motorsport.
The quality is up there and the comfort is spot on.

They look ace but not sure his arse will fit. Is there any flex to squeeze in or are they fully rigid?

I'm 6ft1 16 stone with fairly big legs and there's plenty of room. It is an XL seat but has velcro inserts so you could run thicker cushions to accommodate yourself. also the price is great!

I'm 5'9" and 38" waist and I used Bimarco Futura and they were fine. Really comfortable too.
The problem you'll have is you sliding around. Maybe even with cushions. Not necessarily your backside but your shoulders and legs. With a tighter seat you can lean on it.
Best thing is trial and error. See if there's some members local you can try or get along to a seat shop. How far is demon tweeks from you guys?

Demon tweeks isn't to far, do they have seats on display yeah?

Demon have quite a few on display yeah.

Will be almost impossible to accommodate both of you properly if you're that different size wise.....you'll have to get the smallest seat he can squeeze into or you'll be rattling around all over the place!
Definitely need to go and sit in as many as possible with different cushion configurations, GSM seats are well priced and I know tweeks have lots on display to try for size.

Buy the biggest seat possible and one of those kits to make a seat they use in F1......you'll look so cool dropping your seat in.....
