Exhaust banging on body when going over bumps?

I'm not sure why it's doing it to be honest. I've replaced the rear hanger and it's still there. Car is a 172 cup and it's a standard exhaust.

The exhaust seems to sit at a funny angle but not sure where to start

Try the centre hanger as well, mine bangs all the time, its very low though, so even though my back box doesnt move there is still a lil bit of play in the middle part

I'll give that a try mate. It's on completely standard suspension so isn't bottoming out or anything. To be honest it looks a bit like a 4x4 the way it is sitting just now! I'll get under it tomorrow and check that one. Is the exhaust hanger in the middle the same as the one for the back box?

If it's the one I'm thinking of, its a kind of figure of 8 shape that fits onto the middle. I picked up a new one for about £6 from ECP, they're the same on all clios including the 1.2's etc i believe

How close is it to the rear beam, where it joins the backbox.

That's the centre hanger.

I'm assuming the centre and back is sleeved, in fact it is. That will be the issue, had it on a previous clio

If all your mounts are in good shape and it's still banging AND the back box is at a funny angle, then 1 or 2 of your clamps has come loose and the system has twisted. They're a fucker to get sitting right.

Cheers Daniel, that is possible. The back box sits at a strange angle. I'll fire up a photo tomorrow. It's a horrible looking thing
