phase 1&2 clio 172 tailgate lock catch

Hey guys, the lock catch on the inside of the tailgate can they be swapped from a phase 1 to a phase to 2? Apparently they are different and a phase 2 tailgate will go on a phase 1 but the lock catch is different, just wondered if I bought a phase 2 tailgate and put the lock catch off my phase 1 on, (lot of phases in this lol) if it will work or are they riveted in??? Can anyone shed any information on this please?

Just tried googling this myself but with no answers.
I've got a dent in my Phase 1 tailgate and it's cheaper to buy a second hand Flame Red ph2 tailgate than to get my ph1 repaired but the lock button is different so as above can I change the barrel over and keep all my locks the same?

Exactly the same, I've put a ph2 boot on my ph1 and apart from some splicing on the loom in the roof to join it all up there is no compatability issues with regards to the lock!

Sorry I meant so long as you have the ph2 boot button/lock etc you can do away with the ph1 key barrel as it works off the remote central locking.
