Two cups two totally different power

Hey guys, wondering if someone could point me in the right direction, my mate has a 172 cup same as I do stripped out all track prepped but his is so much quicker than mine in a straight, his flys through the revs where mine takes quite awhile to rev

He can do 40-100 in under 8 seconds it takes mine 10-11 seconds

Clearly something wrong with mine as all his has differently is a k-tax induction kit

Both decat he has a oreca race I have yozza race systems

Regards Dan

His has just had timing belt done, mine not so sure, I have a feeling it's been done, probably badly as there is a pen mark on the de phaser, pointless as its a floating pulley

Saying that though the Renault manual or some revisions of it say to mark your cam pulleys for reference. Depends if you're doing dephaser and exhaust cam fixings and if the belt was set right before you started.

On the whole though it's a good indicator someone has tried to eye ball things.

VALUES AND SETTINGS Timing belt tensioning procedure
Make a mark (C) using a pencil between the camshaft pulleys and the camshaft bearing cap casting(people use paint cause it shows up better)
section 7 page 14 of the Renault manual.

I'm going to say down on compression or timing or both. Yours doesn't sound as crisp without even looking at the video. You both have exactly the same exhaust too? Cat fitted etc?

Ask him what fuel economy he gets from a tank. If timing is out, it will probably only get 75% of what the correctly timed one will get.
