Rowly's Liquid Yellow.

  Liquid Yellow 182 FF
Hello all.

This is my thread for my LY 182 FF. I've owned a few cars, of which i will show lower down this thread. Cant be bothered to write much so i'll keep it simple.

I'm very VERY OCD with all things and i will be slowly restoring the underside of the car as i have done with my previous vehicles at great cost.

Spec-
2004 '04 FF 182
Apex springs (will be going)
Full Milltek inc de-cat (will be recatted and quietened down more)
Whiteline RARB
10mm rear axle spacers
New bulbs throughout the car

Old cars (in no order)-
2007 Audi A3 Quattro S-Line TDI. Had a full S3 kit, exhaust, large turbo and s3 rear diff.
Mapped to 205bhp 400+ft lbs, sideways monster, motorway muncher, ate a few clutches/flywheels. Very heavy but pretty quick.

2006 Ford Focus ST-3.
Mapped to 265bhp and 350+ft lbs, de-res exhaust, asbo exhaust bangs, chuffing fast, used more fuel than could be produced, also demolished a clutch, very fun car, deadly in the wrong hands.

Now, This was my absolute pride and joy for 5 long years! Sadly and slowly lost the love for it and retured to standard to sell early this year. Massive regret but must move on.
Build cost was upwards of £8000 and all was documented, this car taught me how to drive, how a car responds to different situations at speed. This car was/is the best car i'll ever have owned. No doubt about that. The spec list was massive, so i'll keep that short.

It was a standard engine, then I built my own ITB heavy duty cammed 1.6 lump, Then it was 1700 with a Ford Racing gearbox.

Oh, WTF are you doing in something French?!

Still a massive gayer for selling the Fiesta, Best example out there.

I hope the Clio ends up in a similar way to the ZS

This means we are car friends again.

I like how they are the same colour, Albeit yours being the shinier type.

Is this faster than an EK9 or does it need an FRP lump in it?

Was hoping you would get a thread up mate after seeing and perving over it on Bookface :p

Really looking forward to seeing this develop into something rather tasty after knowing how great your ZS was!

Coming to the RR this Sunday ? @Rowly

Don't think anyone could slate that

Exhaust looks a little droopy, your bottom front grill needs cleaning properly and the rear number plate doesnt look straight, but apart from that, that is seriously one of the best looking 182's i have seen so far.

2x new exhaust mounts are fitted., number plate is straight. Must be the angle. The car will get new grilles after winter.

Ok, got some bits done today.
Rear ARB is fitted on the soft setting to start with as I dont want to upset the suspension anymore than it already is. Need a good set of springs asap.

Now, everyone says you can't fit an update list radio to a tuner list car. Watch me.
The tuner is resistive-BUS and the update is CAN-BUS. So, no technically it cant be changed but I'll make it happen.

The update list is in and working with aux function but the display cannot talk to the radio so that no longer works. I'll adapt the loom and fit a new clock when i get chance and see how that goes on. Whilst the radio was out i fitted a new panel directly under the radio as the old one was beyond my liking.

Fitted CGB Motorsport quickshift kit. I have not fitted the selector pivot, these have been known to cause gear selection issues. So, currently its only the lever fitted meaning a reduction in throw of -15% over standard. Good, well made kit.

Appologies for the poor iPhone photos, my DSLR was on charge. Also, the mucky carpet, i'm planning a full clean this coming weekend by which time my mats should have arrived.

I'm at Oulton Park tomorrow is anyone local would like a passenger ride.

Thanks.

Ola!
Some updates and an Oulton Park round-up.

Oulton, 2nd Feb 2015.
weather was excellent and track temps were quite high, took the clio out as it was. Couldn't do more than 2 laps at a time as the standard fluid and pads were well gone by then. Replaced the fluid with DOT 4.5 Castrol Race and replaced the pads with Ferodo DS2500 and then I was outbraking most cars on track after lunch. all fell into place for some fast laps. No problems to report, faultless car.

Met a few other local clio owners and some national clio owners, all were going well on track.
