My 182 cup

Hi,
After owning a 1.2 clio for 2 and half years and loving it! I new I had to get a sport just wait for the insurance to drop anyway last Friday I was on my lunch break and thought I would check if it had dropped and by my surprise it had. So was looking on ebay that night and seen one not to far in Wigan for 2,300 so Saturday went to view it. Was it very good condition had been serviced every year by Renault, wheels refurb and only 2 owners, only problems was the usual steering wheel, 1 of the wheels had been curbed and little bit of paint bubble on the bonnet. Anyway I got the car for 2000 which I don't think is bad for a 182 cup with 2 owners on 04 reg with 108000 miles?? So today I sold my 1.2 for 180:laughing:and the 182 is now in the paint shop getting the wheel and bonnet re-sprayed.

Here are some pictures below of how it was when I bought it, please let me know what you think and what would make it look even better! I'm already ordering mats and the areo wipers for it.

Very tidy mate, looks like the headlights could do with a restoration.
Yes I plan on restoring them using fine sand paper seen a few people get good results using it.
Looks like a nice base for you buddy.

the main question though...have you managed to go for a drive yet?
Yes haha managed to insure it yesterday with a lot of messing around went with Adrian flux in the end and took it for a spin, like you said clutch a lot different to what im used to but didn't take me long to get used to it.
The interior looks in great condition.
Yes perfect condition the seats have no wear at all only problem is the wheel which I will be buying a new one after new years out the way

Quick update car engine management light kept coming on after a while and was misfiring so went in Garage and had new plugs and leads fitted and runs perfect now. Also noticed mine has had a splitter put on it already which is a bonus :tongueout: DSC_0543.jpgDSC_0545.jpg

Stunning mate. Best colour too

However washers never worked when i bought the car looked at screen wash was empty filled it up still not working but can hear the pump going to going to clean out each yet and pump filter and see if that works, anyone else had this problem?

Do you mean the windscreen washers or xenon washers? Xenon washers is a common failure on them, I just blanked mine off and tucked the tubes away!

Car looks great buddy, saw an RB in St Annes earlier, reg ended 'XTO' I think and I thought it might have been yours. If you need any help or advice then give me a shout. I'm not on here much anymore though!

Also Car went into garage today as the problem with the engine management light come back which I though was plugs and leads but clearly not, would come on randomly then turn Car off and on and wouldn't show for a while so waiting on getting it back to see what it wasDSC_0597.jpg

Another update ordering induction kit and a decat pipe this week and maybe the rs tuner. Bad news is I've just manage to curb one of my wheels today no massively but still will be getting a refurb so it look perfect. Also the power issue problem I was having and the engine light being on has still not been fixed took it to a garage which said if was plugs and leads as someone had mixed and matched the plugs so paid them for New ones worked fine for a week then problem come back but worst, took it to another Garage that I know are good and were open new years eve and plugged it in and come up injector 1 fault so managed to get one ordered and fitted that day all was good then till the next day when issue come back again. So it's going into the Garage again tomorrow to see what the problem is and hopefully sort it out once and for all, just hope it ain't another injector as didn't realise how much they cost. Will update more next week and see if the problem fixed also might have induction kit fitted by then so will post pictures of that.

Hope you all had good Christmas and have a great New year

What plugs did you get them to put in mate? The RS's need NGK PFR6E-10 or they act up.
Honestly not to sure mate but i will find out today as its currently at the garage. I just took it to the garage before i went to work told them the issues i was having, then they rang me up saying them have looked at the plugs and someone has put different plugs in and that it would be best to change so i just told them to just order the correct plugs but not to get cheap ones and thought that had done it as it lasted a while until it come back again. I will find out today what the main problem is just hope it inst to costly haha.

little update I have now sorted out the power issue I was having, I have now replaced the plugs, leads, washer motor, 2 injectors and lamber sensor. I'm having slight problem with the drivers side wheel when on full lock the drivers side makes a weird noise so will be taking into garage next week hopefully. Also this Wednesday coming I am having to pay a £300 to cancel insurance and will be reinsuring it with different company that are a lot cheaper and more benefits.
The car is going on a rolling road at the start of February to get the specs of what it is doing, cars completely standard apart from exhaust so not expecting much.
What im buying for my car in the next few weeks are (will update with pictures once received and fitted):
-Got a omp steering wheel and boss coming of a member on here
-RStuner
-Restore headlights
-Boosch areo wipers
-Mist washer jets
-Rs badge

After all that think the car will look and preform well and not sure what else I will do after that if anyone got any ideas let me know :)

Got my induction pipe today of a member on here and fitted the induction kit, first time fitting opoone. Not 100 percent sure if done it correctly what I did was,
- Remove standard air box and filter
- Removed the piping to the left which was attached to the box
- Took wheel arch off and removed lining
-Pulled the air intake pipe though the arch
- disconnected the acoustic value
- put screw in pipe that was left after removing acoustic value and taped up the plug
- Fitted the induction kit

Does that sound right guys?
