Lollipop Final Release

Mine has just updated. So far so good. Although one little thing I don't like, the app tray now has a white background, rather than being transparent like before? Had a look in the settings but can't see anything? Take it there's no way of changing it 😧

Might reinstall nova launcher and see what I can do with that
Found a way to change this yet? Probably the only thing I don't like now. Battery is MUCH better on mine.

Nova launcher is the only way I think mate.

Loving it so far though, and as you say, battery is a lot better

When is this released on the HTC One? Checked my phone and there's no update yet

I did a fresh install on my Nexus 5 & 7, no big deal and certainly beats the 'check for system update' button game! Give it a go.
Also, if you have your bootloader unlocked, the new method for rooting on Lollipop is a breeze. Was rooted in under a minute! I believe changing the DPI via root method, rather than ADB, is a bit more robust. The DPI thing doesn't bother me as much dodgy app icon design does, but I do root to run Adaway - can't stand ads!

I would love to keep my Nexus 7 rooter but the lack of Sky Go always gets the better of me and I end up unrooting again :(

I don't get it and I don't really like it.
There is no simple way just to mute my phone as there was before. If I set my phone to 'priority' then this still allows the camera to make noises, whatsapp currently still bypasses it as well and it also disable the vibrate function which means I miss calls and texts.

For some the priority mode may be useful but for me it is unnecessarily complicated and doesn't seem to work for what I need it for.

In priority mode, you need to tap the little cog wheel to get into the options and select the 'calls' and 'messages'. Otherise they'll be silent if turned off.

My N5 has been a bit random the last few days. Had lollipop since Mon last week (17th) was the genuine over the air update, not one I forced myself.

Battery down to 2%, put it on charge before going to bed, woke up the next morning, was only 70% charged and saif "3 hours left to charge". No signs of any power cuts through the night or anything.

Also can sometimes be a bit slow when unlocking. The screen comes on but the app icons are delayed by a second or two. this is a bit random, and not everytime. Turning the phone off and on again seems to help.

Anyone else's playing up?

I've had no issues so far. Although I've picked up on something I don't like...you now can't go straight to google from the lock screen like you could before. Now have to unlock first, then drag the bottom centre up

One thing I've noticed is that you can no longer share a screen shot from the notification panel at the top. You not have to open the screen shot now and share from there.
Not a big issue, just going backwards a bit instead of forward.

Chrome wouldn't load a page without crashing last night. Never happened before the update.

Seems fine after a reset though

I opted for a full reset yesterday after encountering lots of problems with apps crashing.
Google Play, Chrome and Facebook app mainly but others were crashing. I thought it was SwiftKey at first but it was happening with the stock keyboard too.

Seems OK after a full reset. Left a load of apps uninstalled too and saved so much memory space.
Only thing I'm pissed off with is my SMS/other messages backup. Said it backed up to Gmail. Go to Gmail, only 25% ish of messages in there. Click restore to device and nothing happens. Should have researched the app a bit more first I think.

One thing I don't get is where the tabs went in chrome. I can't seem to see my tabs or have any idea if more than one is open..

I guess I'm missing something glaringly obvious......?

Go into the settings in chrome, and turn off "merge tabs and apps"

Well, after a full reset my phone functioned fine for a day or two.
Now it's constantly falling over. Chrome is unusable. Even after I uninstalled chrome updates it's the same. Load a page up, as soon as I put my finger on the screen it closes.
Facebook is the same.
Play music is hit and miss.
Flickr and Instagram seem alright at the moment and some of the games seem OK.

I'm just hoping there's an update due soon.
I've tried turning off Google Now and it's no different /after searching this seemed to work for some people)

My mate had to factory reset his N5 Lollipop last night due to poor battery (he was getting a calendar wake lock that he couldn't stop by disabling or geenify) but other than that he's had no problems. I've had no problems at all on my nexus 5 and loving Lollipop!

Its still annoying me that you can't google straight from the lock screen like you could before :(

A full reset fixed mine for a couple of days.
I had a look in Quick Pic at the hidden folders and there was a plain white unnamed image so I deleted the folder and restarted the phone and touch wood, its been ok since (Since last night)
Might be worth checking hidden folders to see if there's anything like that.

The ONLY issue I've had since updating my Nexus 5 is that whenever I unlock I'm faced with the dial screen regardless of it being either open or the last app accessed before locking.

Annoying!

You are swiping the centre padlock upwards aren't you?
