Toyosport manifold fitted clio 200

  Ly Cliosport 200
Just got this fitted seems brilliant for the price only problem it's slightly closer to the subframe and now u hear it everytime u stick the foot down hitting the subframe because of the engine movement. Any advice what uprated engine mounts to get or to stop this?

What would I best get as to stop the exhaust from hitting the subframe? Anyone else on here had the toyosport fitted?

Those toyosport manifolds used to be rubbish.
I've seen many crack as the welds are poor.
Keep an eye on it.

Used to be?They obviously still are.
I thought about one till I read the threads here on CS.
They dont fit,hit the subframe, poor gasket face and welds that crack.
Someone suggested polybushing the rear dogbone to stop it knocking.

Seems fine with mine. Seems to pull much better lower down the revs. It does fit but it's closer to the subframe got it all sorted with cazan racing. Two parts I need to stop the engine moving as much. Can't see toyosport being any worse than the actual renualt part being nearly 3 times the price.

google it, its cheap rubbish with the general advice being to avoid! as long as your happy though! out of curiosity why change the standard manifold when its not an issue in the first place?

the standard one broke in half where the flexi part is. It's a common problem on the 197-200's so why buy or fix the standard manifold at a stupid price on what renault want for there manifold. I was put onto the direction to get a toyosport from the forums. Are these comments about the 197-200 models or 172-182 models? My auld mans a welder and he said it looked good for the value of money for the manifold. All in all saved myself over 700 quid getting it fitted. I would recommend it tbh. Only down side it's closer to the subframe than the standard but it only hits it because the standard engine mounts are shocking. If these were proberly looked at from building the car maybe the standard manifolds wouldn't break in the first place!

Standard engine mounts are shocking. If these were properly looked at from building the car maybe the standard manifolds wouldn't break in the first place!
Fair point, though mainstream motoring press would slate a car with solid engine mounts.
If it all comes apart, get your Dad to weld some new flexis to the original manifold and refit it.

Yea Steve that's exactly what am doing lol. Getting some flexis from eBay. Didn't see the point on throwing the standard one out as its a easy fix. Come in handy as a spare

Full marks for not binning it.I`m under the impression that replacing the manifold is an engine out job. Please correct me if this is not the case.

You repalce the lower rear gearbox mount, but cazan racing also sell poly bushed inserts for the top swing mount and may do inserts for the lower gearbox mount aswel.

Just subframe. Yea cazan racing am getting upper engine mount and torque mount to stop the rattling. The toyosport seems to be a great buy for the price.

Toyosport has an awful reputation regardless of marque.
They produce a twin system cat back exhaust for my car, for £180 off of eBay. They're either paying 5 year olds from Taiwan to weld them, or they're using tin foil.

  Ly Cliosport 200
For the price tbh. Seems to be a bargain. Touch wood everything goes fine! Seems to pull better with the pre cat removed. Slight flat spot at 2000-2500rpm. With all the bad rep am surprised as the welds look fine. For 238 quid am happy as Larry

A friend of mine has had a toyosports manifold, exhaust, intercooler and radiator on his supercharged mx5 for a few years now. Makes good figure and has no issues

On the 197/200 I believe they're an improvement over the Renault part.

That's the engine mounts on. Lower engine mount and torque mount. No knocking at all. All sorted. There's more of a vibration though with these mounts. But mostly when it's at a stand still. Doesn't bother me at all. Just letting the forums know of my fitment. Just going to get a re-map now so I get full potential of lost bhp with the pre cat removed

The toyo manifold is cheap crap and you 99% of the time lose power, you can get most back with mapping which is actually a must due to the fuelling been so far out if running the stock map!
