Cruise Control stopped working

Hey

This morning i was happyly useing the CC @ 71mph on the motorway.

I get in the car at 5pm and jump onto the A46, press the CC Switch and little green logo pops up, I proceed to press the + key to set the speed and nothing.... None of the buttons work.

Got home, left car for 4 hours and tried again just now and same again. Nothing.

I'm baffled, does anyone have any idea where to start looking?

I've had this happen a couple of times . I'd use my CC , then when i went to use it later , nothing . Then it would fix itself again . I never investigated it , so never got to the bottom of the cause of it . I'm not sure if it's linked to a bad earth on the brake lights . When you press your brake pedal , do you ever get the faint fog light symbol come on , on your dash ? I get that when it's been raining very hard and it's very damp . I've checked the connectors in the rear light cluster and there was no corrosion , so i just give the connectors a good sprat with WD40 and the problem went away . So it must be something to do with moisture getting into the connectors for the rear lights . I'm not sure if this is linked to the CC problem though or not . It might be worth you checking them out though .

Try the brake light switch on pedal is tight and on correctly they can move on bumpy surfaces

As said before, check the brake light switch (just above the brake pedal), push the brake down, and then twist the switch so it come out of its groove where its held in place and then disconnect it.. you should b able to adjust the end... you will hear it click if you push or pull it (you have to give it some force) this should solve it

Also check if the Speed Limiter option works as this will rule out a brake pedal or steering wheel control issue.

Have you recently uploaded a remap using RS tuner?

Limiter doesnt work (unless im useing it wrong.)
I do get the Faint Fog light symbol for a split second show up on breaking.

And yes I did the 97+ map in july

Did you follow the procedure for resetting the CC after doing the rs tune? Check the website if you didnt.

He posted it's just started to stop working and he did the rs tune in July . Surely it wouldn't work for months then stop :-/
