Decibel killer / Bung for exhaust - 5.5inch tail pipes!



Anyone know where I can find this? For my mates Focus RS.

I've found up to 5" ones on eBay. But not sure how well it will work being a size too small.

Ridiculously big tailpipes!!
 
KMS Thunderstorm exhaust?

Bungs look utterly shite, he'd be better off selling the cat back and buying a quieter system. Should get decent money for it on the forum.

That's right mate. Stupid tail pipes.

Bungs do look s**t. But it's only for a track day not general use.

He likes the system and can't afford to get a centre section welded in.

Only for long journys on the motorway though. Certainly wouldn't consider driving on boost with it in

Yeah it's not an ideal situation. But to get it on a track day it'll be necessary. He will probably take it out once he's become aware of where the microphones at Bedford are anyway.

What size is your one mate?
 
Mines a 5inch mongoose system and blocker. The blocker was hks

Just to reiterate though. DONT DRIVE HARD WITH IT IN. :wink:
 
What sort of power is he running? Been told before of one case where a big turbo'd RS blew a few turbos before it was discovered the exhaust was poorly designed where it separates into the two back boxes and was creating a lot of back pressure causing them to fail.

I'd be wary of using bungs tbh.

Wasn't aware it was such a big deal. It'll just be to pass the static noise test. Any maybe sighting laps. I'll tell him to take it out once he's seen where the Bedford microphones are.

I had no idea about this. Causing the turbo to fail? My mate did a full day at Bedford with a bung in his civic type R with no problems.

400bhp apparently. He bought the car like it so hasn't had a power run done to confirm yet.

Has an rs focus but can't afford a little welding?
Yep LOL, I would have just told him to get a centre section welded in otherwise.
