hi guys.. quick few questions for yous. im going to be helping an older guy cleaning his red honda jazz.
its a seven year old car, oxidation is the major problem but its not too bad. we will be doing it by hand and i know its not the best way to tackle it, but any inprovement will do.
im not too sure how i should go about it. im thinking claying, megs uc, af rejuvenate, r222 paint cleanser and some wax. i will also be doing some tar removal at the beginning. ive got some hydro hand pads, never used them before so im a bit worried about that. any help would be great. thanks !

By hand I'd be tempted to not bother and find someone locally with a polisher. Never tried machine polishing anything less than 2000 grit myself

Help please again lol 😌. I am think of buying AF ToughCoat and wax Collinite #915 and applying over the weekend. I already have a nearly new bottle of AF Tripple, and was going to get a clay bar also, but I don't have an IronX or similar (at the moment).
Is it worth buying the toughcoat and the wax or am I buying two products when I don't need to? Also do I need to apply the Tripple, then the toughcoat and finally wax?

Layering wax over sealant can shorten the life of the wax, it's not really necessary to apply wax over a sealant. If you get either, just top them up after a few months or when need be.
I'd recommend buying a sealant or wax and putting the money saved to iron x and tardis. The less contact you have with the car the better.
If you just clay the car without removing tar and fall out, you'll just be dragging all the crap across the paint and loading up the clay bar. So you'll end up throwing it away sooner.

Yup, that's a good shopping list.
Someone will be along to confirm/add their two penneth shortly though.
Tough coat is a piece of piss to apply, with 3-4 months longevity off the top of my head.
I found auto finesse spirit to fair very well last winter. I Applied in November and removed march iirc.
It's expensive but a very good product. It looks brilliant too.
Depends what you want @celicaturbolly - have you also considered Hydro2?

Yeah, product itself says 1-3 months, but I know @gally is on a good few months now.
Super easy to apply, awesome results (and no need to touch the paint yourself)

Got loads of mold and muck in all the panel and window gaps on an Audi TT in the family. Any decent procedures or products to use?
Tried using a detailing brush carefully to poke in the gaps but some of it is quite stubborn. Don't want to stick a jet wash in there in case it does more damage than good.

As above, dilute with water, spray on with your regular sprayer bottle - jetwash off xD

Ahh sounds in-genious... Only problem I have is I don't have a sprayer bottle or a jet wash lol
More stubborn brush and neat g101 will shift it. PW has to get close to break it down also.

Just as a note for anyone considering soft top cleaning as it seems to come up a lot of late, the zed had been a little neglected recently (I'm building it a driveway in coming months ffs)... so the roof had the notorious green tinge coming in where it meets the seals along the back edge of the boot.
Anyway, for a standard fabric roof, the Autoglym roof cleaner and supplied weird sponge is bloody superb. Can be bought from halfords too.
You can get a stunning finish without the sealer, all I did was:
Mist coat of water over roof
Small jug of fairly hot water
Spray cleaner all over roof (about 6 inches between sprays)
Wet sponge in hot water and squeeze out thoroughly
Go hell for leather in straight lines in one direction until sponge is visibly dirty (it's white), rinse, squeeze, repeat.
Finish the roof
Replace water, apply more cleaner.
Go hell for leather in other direction in straight lines
Replace water, apply more cleaner.
Go hell for leather in circles.
Open hose to rinse off thoroughly.
This should cover all eventualities with regards to "opening the pores" of a tri layer fabric roof (which many BMW's/Audi's are now) and really doesn't take very long.
It can then be sealed, but only if you have a garage really.
I also have a bird poop burn on my bootlid, and it feels very contaminated. I need the units @Scrooge 's cabinet of goodies.
