Yip it is but s**t happens, just bad luck. Ordered new genuine aerocatches this morning and going to see if i can heat and shrink the dent on the roof.
I had always planned on getting the car wrapped in kawasaki green at some point so this may have just moved that forward if i need to fill dents.

Luckily it's only a track car and not your daily lol. Kawasaki green? Literaly millions of colours out there....

I know but always liked the colour, nearly got my R8 wrapped in it a few years ago.

Well after a clean up this is the damage.

  lots of clios.
Fraz told me about it last night! Properly gutted for you [emoji30]. Has your new aerocatches got the spreader plate for the underside of the bonnet? Might help strengthen it up a bit more, I have them on mine. Hopefully not too hard to put right though.

Waiting to hear back from a dent guy just now and a mate can fit a screen for me.
Don't think the roof will be crease free without some filler, which might not be a good idea .
I have the spreader plates on the tailgate catches but catch on the bonnet has actually snapped in half, I think the bonnet must have lifted with the other catch not being closed properly .

Wow thats not good at all, were they genuine aero catches or cheap replicas?

Hope it all gets fixed

I think the one that cracked in half was one of the original ones that were on the car when I bought it so genuine I think. The thing is it was never designed to take the force it did with the other clip not being shut properly, but the way it did split in half is scary.
I have two new sets of genuine catches ready to fit once I get around the fixing the car at some point.

Pulled the car into the garage yesterday and made a start on fitting the kill switch and lifeline kit.
What wire do I connect the kill switch into from the ignition ?
Also decided to move the omex ecu inside the car and moved the standard ecu towhee the power steering resivour was as I'm going to be converting to eps.

Im going to run a lead from the ecu to behind the stereo blank so its easy to check the map and sensors without removing the dash top.

Hopefully next week the roof damage will be getting sorted.

Well after the bonnet/roof incident and a delay in parts for a eps conversion , I had got a bit pissed off with the clio, so a deal was done last week and today its bye bye to the blue clio ...

Got the my oil cooler kit through from JJC along with a sticker kit. Really hopping that the Electric steering parts arrive this week, if anyone knows SkidMarx off of here could you give him a nudge.

Nope not breaking was just messing around, its off to get the roof sorted and get paint.
Im wanting to race in SLS at Knockhill , or at least the rounds I'm at home for. Its basically a time attack style series , ran in classes or power to weight.

Thanks a lot its been good fun to build if a little stressful at times , but when out on track it makes it worthwhile.
Was hoping to get the car back today from paint but looks like its going to be mid week now, ideally want to get out on track to test the car before i go back to work at the end of the month.

Another new set of wheels bought :tonguewink: I think these will be going white and the 6 x 2118's I have will be going anthracite.

STILL waiting on getting the car back so made a start on the front brakes.
Im using the spead.co.uk 280mm mounts with Porsche 996 turbo rear calliper ,they mount up fine now after a bit trimming.
I'm using a 16mm spacer but may try a 10mm on as it looks like it may clear, it also looks like a 300mm disc will fit in this calliper design behind a 15" wheel.

That looks like a 4 pot to me. It's amazing what you can fit under 15's with the right wheel and custom brackets.

Yes its a 4 pot the 996 turbo ran 4 pots front and rear unless it had the motorsport 6 pot upgrade on the front, I've had the callipers lying for the last 4 years so made this a fairly cheap brake upgrade.

No problem Wayne, will probably be next year now before it back on track.

Had some spare Porsche stickers so rude not to.
