New Member - Rear Shocks question

Sorry - didn't take that into account. Definitely worth joining. I'd be amazed if you didn't make it back in your first purchase or money saved by following one of the DIY guides. One of life's true "no brainers".

have i just failed on my aerotwins purchase ?

!! indeed. Paid a bit more myself on ebay and got sent AR524Ss and not the advertised AR530Ss. 15 minutes with the Dremel (on the placcy bit) and a scissors (on the spoiler rubbers) to swap the spoiler to the correct side. Bit pissed at needing to do this but felt better for it.

Alternator shagged / How far by battery alone? / Tips

Having booked into Fred (BTM) ages ago for Cam/Aux belt kits I then had the "Stop and Battery light" issue on my 29,000 mile 182. Pinned it down to the alternator and bought a second battery (low spec. Unipart "063" 40AH). Ensured both batteries were fully charged on a battery conditioner and...

    battery removal

Yeah that bolt's out but there's bugger all room for sliding the battery forward. Either that air feed/trumpet needs to moved out of the way (safely) or there's some other knack to it.

    battery removal

I'm in the same position (also '05 182) and don't have the right tools to easily remove that brace. Mine's all standard. Do I need to remove the air feed/plastic trumpet from the side of the air box to allow me to pull the battery far enough forward (or is there some other knack)? If so, is...

Fitting new discs/pads/lines - what order?

On a previous car the trick was to push a piece of suitable tubing over the solid pipe and clamp that off with a Mole grips

    How to change rear shocks

Thanks for guide. Used it yesterday. If doing it again and time allowed I'd soak the exposed part of the bottom bolt with WD40 or similar well in advance. I hadn't initially realised that the end of the bolt was exposed and - whilst it was relatively easy to get started - towards the end it...

Are the rear dampers filled with oil???

Hmmm. Our's probably went on the same day! Went on holiday on the 13/7. Car ('05 182; 29,000 miles) had been fine and was parked up the night before with no issues. Walked round it next morning before leaving - all fine. Came back on Tuesday to pool of oil under car from a wet n/s rear damper...

    Standard exhaust vs custom

....and/or quiet (for the OP). Before I bought my Yozzasport the local garage offered me one from a factors (Dingbro up here in Scotland). It was £191 all in and I saw a fax of it which showed it to be a two-parter with a Renault twin back-box stylee. I didn't look into it any further...
