Cheers for the info Steve.
I thought you were referring to 172s in your post, I hadn't realised that decent 182s were in the £5k price band these days.
I think that I may be looking at a few 182s this weekend as I prefer the age of them (newer the better for me)
Is the 182 still capable of...
Cheers for the replies guys :) The MINI market has taken a hit since I bought mine but it's still enough to secure a decent RS 1*2.
Gally, are you talking my original budget (£7K) or my new budget above (<£5k)?
I think that my budget would be better spent on a very tidy 172 over a...
Cheers for the reply Steve.
The age and mileage criteria is more because I would like something newer and lower milage than the MINI which is a 52 plate with 45k on the clock.
Which colours are and aren't desirable on the 172? My preferance would probably be flame red.
£5000 shouldn't be a...
Hey all,
Sorry to drag up such an old thread.
Right since I started this thread I sold the GP and bought an S1 106 Rallye from a friend to run around in. Then in September last year I bought an R53 Cooper S which I currently own.
In February this year I moved into my first home and now I'm...
That is automotive pornography, I love it :hail:
Makes me want to go for a drive with my camera and have a play (not tried playing with the brightness and shutter speed yet :o )
I had a feeling you'd be buying another RS dude, the GP never made you smile did it :)
Still considering one myself, just not got around to putting my GP up for sale.
Makes for a good read, picks up on most of the common points that everyone here suggests looking out for - Although there are a few bits missing as previously mentioned.
btw Sainsbury's is always my source for PC Mag (regular reader), they always seem to stock it on time :)
It's swaying me...
Cheers for the advice Se7en, some great food for thought in your post :D
Once I've sorted out the GP (buckled wheel, chipped windscreen and 2nd year service all need sorting ASAP) then I'll be set to start my RS search.
Markie, my budget is probably the wrong side of £6k now, the whole...
I'm not familiar with the world of Clio's so my input probably wont help but I would say that the 172 is slightly over priced and the 182 is slightly under priced (if that makes sense). This is purely going on what seems to be available on the market at the moment.
The 172 however is in a more...
Looks stunning mate :D
Big improvement over the Ibiza?
Bit of a side track but just curious as to average fuel consumption, what's it showing because I've read posts saying that the 182's can't match the above 30mpg average of the 172's? :o
Cheers for the offer Swirly, would be good to get an idea of how it holds up over time.
Hey Si, you'll be the reason why I couldn't register with that username :p lol
Bazzon, cheers for the heads up. I have anticipated this and think it could work quite well as a bargaining point. If you...
Thank you all for a warm and informative welcome :)
I will be sure to carry out test drives of both cars as well as a few others before making my final decision (hopefully sometime during February next year) and will be sure to check for leaking rear dampers as well as the usual wear and tear...
:o * WARNING THIS THREAD MAKES FOR A LONG READ * :o
Hi all,
My name is Simon, I'm 21 years old and I live in Reading. Although I don't currently own a Clio, I have done in the past and I'm currently looking at getting another one soon.
I've just spent the last 10 minutes writing an...
