    Clio Race Series Options

CSCC Tin Tops is good if you want to share the driving with a friend. I'd say Spa is well worth the cost. We went last year and despite a couple of safety cars and a faulty clutch master cylinder we still had lots of fun. The other nice thing is that you can normally do a second race (Open...

TomoTek - 182 Track Build here we come!...

It was a combination of things. We started using the HPAS then got a bit fed up with it as we were taking the engine out fairly regularly. We got rid of the pump and took the piston out of the rack. Didn't fancy welding up the pinion in case it distorted though. Switching to the dci steering...

TomoTek - 182 Track Build here we come!...

Looks really good. Did you do anything about the torsion bar? We put a dci rack in our race car in order to do away with that.

Sorry. I didn't mean to be rude. We talked about it for a bit and didn't come up with a conclusive answer. We had them the other way round for a while and have just put them this way now. The GT team that Ryan used to work for put them the way round that we have them but couldn't tell him why at...

Doesn't that theory rely on the gases given off having a higer density than the air which would replace it? I can certainly imagine that groves going the way you suggest would fling dust clear of the disks.

That's a shame. There's a place that does re-moulds just up the road.

Phill, They seem to spend more time on two wheels. I'm not saying that it can't go on three wheels occasionally just as it runs out of grip but I'd rather not have one of the rear wheels wobbling around in the air, just after the car has turned into the corner. That's what we did have quite...

That's why I put improvements in inverted commas. In retrospect it was a silly idea. and I wouldn't recommend it to any one else. However for the few laps we did in quite greasy conditions it did feel very positive and we're all keen to get it working properly. It felt several times better...

Jay, In simple terms, the others didn't listen to me. Last time we had an outing, it was the race at Donnington. We were fully prepared for that in advance, turned up, completed the race and had cake and lemonade. For the test before that at Castle Coombe, we finished bodging everything...

    Longer drive shafts

Hi Fred, If you're an advocate of roll centers it's pretty beneficial. In simple terms, raising the lower control arm pickups corrects the suspension geometry which was altered when we lowered the car. By doing this we're raising the front roll center and dropping the COM height at the front...

    Longer drive shafts

Thanks for all the advice. Currently we want to stick with the gearbox we have. I'm only looking for drive shafts. Last month we altered the sub frame slightly to lift up the LCA pickup points by 60mm. Being a bit thick we hadn't thought to check that it wasn't going to interfere with anything...

    Longer drive shafts

'Evening, Does anyone know if there is another car with slightly longer drive shafts which would fit a Clio 172? Ideally I'm after an extra 40mm. I can get some of the way with the standard ones utilizing some of the float and shimming it out behind the wheel bearing but I'm reluctant to start...

We did have a dished steering wheel. It was under Ryan and Dave's chin though so we swapped it for the one we have now. It's a bit flimsy though; we may swap it again for something a bit better and maybe lower it a bit. For the moment I like having some excuses. I don't think I was strapped in...
