Thanks for the reply. I've had an injector go before and it was fine one min, dead the next. Still, I guess there's more than one way for something to fail. Somebody else also suggested an injector, so maybe I'll look into the other 3.
Sorry again to the op for the hi-jack :o
Sorry to jump in, but mine's got a big hesitation under light throttle when cold, up to 3k revs. It doesn't do it when it's warm, but it is down on power, and doesn't 'kick' at 5k. Plugs, leads, coilpack, and lambda sensor are all new, oe items.
It's not that bad. *Touch wood* nothing major has gone wrong with it yet, and I get a nice discount from Renault ;).
I've had performance Renault's for 14 years, so I know what they can be like! I got it to use as a cheap runaround as my Evo is a bit too much to use every day. The thing is...
I bought my 172 off a mate a year ago. He looked after it impeccably in the several years that his missus used it as a daily driver, and it was perfectly reliable. Since I've got it I might as well have moved into my Renault parts department
I got a new centre section for my ph1 172 a few weeks back from Renault. It cost me £120 + vat, with a discount. I think the full price was about £180 + vat.
The air-con in my 172 really isn't THAT effective. My Evo has me shivering in a matter of minutes. The Clio needs to be on full whack, and blowing straight at me, to feel cold. It's been re-gassed, which didn't really have an effect :-(
My mate who re-gassed it, said that it's down to...
Peco Big Bore 4's are what people used to put on their Nova SR's back in the mid 90's. They were nasty things!
I didn't even know Peco were still going tbh.
