just saw this today myself - looks like a fairly nasty crash tbh. There's a silver mk2 ph2 on another trailer behind it with pretty bad side/rear damage... looks like the ph2 pulled out on the v6 :(

to be honest mate it probs wasn't the water that caused it, the 1.6's are rediculous for munching through coil packs - i'd put my money on it just being the coil went (as they generally don't give any warning) and it just so happened that coincidentally you went through a big puddle simultaneously!

depends if the ipod connection is kicking out the required 5v, doubt it the lead cos if it can make a connection it should charge it aswell, more than likely is that the head unit doesnt kick out a voltage
