Got them on mine too & they do almost stop all the knocks on hard acceleration- got to line up the top mount properly an all for full effect. Worth £50 tho
I managed to get front & rear grooved discs for my 172 Cup on EBay for £100 + post.
Stuck them on with a set of Tarox Corsa pads (£100) - need heated up before serious use but 100% better brakes since bedded them in. Lots of dust so far though but they handle serious use, enough to make the...
Manse Vehicle Services in Cairneyhill- 20mins from Stirling just before Dunfermline. I paid £350 for replaceable Cat section + Full Custom 2.5" stainless with one off twin tail- 3.5" together with twin grooved rings round. Good quality of work & very, very loud. Pops, bangs the lot. Not for MWay...
Buy Ring Sportzblues H7 fitment. £30 & same colour as HID but brighter. You'll get flashed but at least you can see where you're going!! Now make them in H1 for the main beams too.
I've a custom made stainless system where the downpipe is modded & attatched to straight through + one box & twin 3.5"s at the rear. It retains both sensors & has a replaceable section for the cat to slot back in. Sounds fckin immense & good gains- that plus custom intake & mesh filter got me...
I run Millers Comp 10W 60 in my Cup- uses less & better on the fuel, all be it very slightly. I think Reno recc. 10 weight oil (ELF), and my motor was using a bit when running it on 5W or 0W.
Lads- fancy a meet in Jan circa new year? My in laws are in Braintree & I need shown some good roads round the area to match the top-notch twisties we have up in Scotland. I'll be down in the Cup 30/12 for a few days if any of you are up for it?
Timing belt from Renault will cost you £500 approx to get done- thats is your bothered about a Renault stamp for it. Get it cheaper elsewhere, and wont need it till 72K I think.
CUP everytime- imagine breaking one of those sachs shox the day after yer warranty expires. That and the weight saving. Stick decent shox/springs/c'overs if you feel the need. Its the rawest one out the lot. I laugh in the face of ABS.
14000 out of my Eagle F1s & I have to say perfect tyre for Scotland, bearing in mind the amount of rain! Not to shabby in the dry too, no noise issues, and I reckon on another 2-3000 out of them yet before I feel guilty about the wear indicators & get another set.
For a cheap but good tyre...
Getting harder to spot as they are all well run in, and as they were faster than 172/182s from new anyway.....chortle chortle.

Ally I use 97RON from Sainsburys in Stirling & its no noticeable diff to Optimax apart from being 4p a litre cheaper. Lets keep badgering Tescos to hit us with the 99 we deserve!! Here, try that Millers CVL suff- whole bottle + 15ltrs of 97RON, then ull notice a dif- its only one Ive tried that...
