My ph1 has averaged 41.3mpg over the last 2 full tank fills, lots of mixed/rural driving ie, lots of stop/start driving. If I do a long stint of dual carriageway driving, at 70mph it drops to 35-36mpg. BTW, having the a/c makes no difference at all.
Well, I've started to think it's the front top mount/bearing, which I may just get replaced first to see what happens. Failing that I may move on to the lower arms.
Thanks chap.
My ph1 172 has developed a few annoying & difficult to locate creaks.
Creak one is when turning the front wheels when stationary, it seemed like the rubber top mounts against the bodywork, so I removed them & smeared lithium grease in between but it still does it (oh, except when I took it in...
Thanks for that.
Should I be using Cup springs (if there is such a thing) if using Cup shocks on a ph1 or will standard springs suffice ? Or, is there a good spring set out there ideally suited to Cup shocks without giving any harder ride than standard ? Likewise, if I stick to new standard OE...
I need a replacement set of dampers for my ph1, I was quoted about £49+vat each front & £51+vat rear for standard dampers & the same price for rear Cup ones & £56+vat for Cup fronts from a local Renault dealer.
I just wondered if I could find either genuine set cheaper online before buying ...

I'm near Framlingham, the LongLife dealer is between Pettaugh & Stonham...
The old PowerFlow system on the car when i bought started to fall to bits internally (perf. tube unwelding from box etc) so found there was a LongLife depot 15mins from me. The chap was superb, initially popped it in for inspection then took it in the next afternoon & he made the new system...
Ok, I've attempted (& failed) to remove the upper dash. 3 screws under the windscreen, 2 behind the doors, upper column cover off & 4 more screws off, can't seem to get the blasted thing off...
Is there possible access if I remove the stereo/vents & get to them from behind ?
Thanks.
The standard bulbs have a black plastic end with the plug 90deg to the bulb itself but these are just metal ended with 2 prongs coming straight out the back ??
The part No. of the ones I've just purchased are 64210NBP (H7 12v 55w)
Can anybody tell me why they are a different fitment plz ?
Dan.
