phII Iceberg 172

  172 Iceberg
I've had this a few months now - loving it! I want to keep the progress in the one thread so here it is. Started out like so:

Born Dec '03 with 35k, Iceberg, plenty of gadgets - climate control, cruise control, auto zenons/wipers, etc...

Mods include a K-tec cat-back, k&n induction kit, Eibach springs, carbon bits all over and a coat of paint of the standard wheels.

Future plans are to drive and enjoy it :D Few plans to tidy parts up but nothing major. I'm on the lookout for a standard set of bullets and a set of aero wipers...

The car is in very good condition but there is alittle creaking coming from the front so I think a new ball joint / drop link may be needed. Also the carbon splitter needs a clean up, seems like it has a kind of scummy texture on it :( Plus need to change that little buzzing thing in the interior light area

Gave it a good clean today - a run with lime prime using the DA then a coat of Supernatural, the silver comes up not too bad:rasp:

I’ve been on a freshening spree recently with cleaning the car – I’d basically stripped the inside of the car to clean up 7 years of crap. The interior is standard so after a freshen up all it needed was a nice new set of mats, £50 later a nice new sw**ky set of Renault Sport mats! Mats Part number: R7711425548

I’ve also been working on the outside trying to sort out the badges situation. I’ve decided to change all the carbon badges back to the standard silver ones – I’ve already got and fitted the side strip 2.0 16v bullets and have the front diamond and rear Clio badge on order! Bullets Part Number: (RH) R8200074475 (LH) R8200074453

I got the first proper drive out in the car last night after finally getting it serviced earlier in the week – it felt good! After replacing the ball joints and front top mounts the car feels so much tighter in the corners, the drive out brought multiple smiles to my face!

A few pics to show the car as it currently sits with new aero wipers, stickers removed, new silver 2.0 16v bullets, new mats and standard light bulbs all round!

Some might say I'm going the wrong way with the mods but I'm wanting the exterior and interior to be close the standard and then work from there with handling/performance...

Cheers - I definately fancy a cup spoiler and a change of wheels in the new year. Nothing different from the normal - just the usual tried and tested turinis or 2118's...

New year update!

I'm coming up near the 6 month mark of ownership - still loving the car very much, still in the honeymoon period with it! :approve:

It's sporting a spot of damage – a nice cracked front splitter due to a lump of ice in the middle of the road that I could not avoid! ah well :(

Basically the spec list on the Clio as it stands is:

Engine:
K-tec 2.5" cat-back exhaust
Carbon fibre engine cover

Suspension:
Eibach springs

Wheels:
Re-sprayed standard 172 wheels

Exterior:
Carbon fibre front splitter
Carbon fibre exhaust shield
Wind deflectors

I have a list of things I'd like to do:
Fix splitter
New gearbox gator
182 boot luggage net
shorter arial
Window washer jets that "spray"
Megane light washer jets (maybe - need to look into it more)
Cup spoiler
Silver 16" Turinis
RS Tuner

Here's a few pics after it's first wash in over a month:

The splitter is really letting it down at the minute :(

I also had the car on the rollers last weekend at Ai Autosport in Northern Ireland

And a little video:

Rather large figures which is suspicious - but at least it shows the car is healthy!

I bought this very car last night and was looking for a replacement antenna and stumbled across this thread on Google! Car is still in real good condition and has the CS sticker on the back and the tax disc holder. Paintwork is in top condition and it is still a very fit 172.

At the minute I cant stay out of it long enough to get a pic! gave my mate a drive last night and asked for it back after 2 mins, I'm like a child with a new toy. They are so much fun! I will try and get a few pics on the way home tonight.
