Hi mate, if you want to turbo I wouldn't bother with cams. there is someone from Brazil here with a turbo K4M, he may give further counseling.

Hello Mau...good to see another Mexican here:approve:...not really sure if I want to go "the turbo route" or just ported and polished cylinder head +forget pistons+ forged rods+ cams + intake and Standalone ECU, at this point I really don't know...main issue is to find someone to do the job as I don't have time, also don't have a clue on turbos setup:banghead: , I have talk to a couple of guys here in Mexico, they deal with V.W.'s and SEAT turbos and they are very good but they have never had any Renault engine to work on....I don't want to be their LabRat!

Hi mate welcome to the club, I wonder if a phase 2 sport front and rear bumpers and grill might fit that it'd look nice, not keen on your wheels tbh but each to his own, your car certainly is very different and you have some good mods so far and plenty to come by the looks of it, I'm sure CS will offer plenty of technical help, not me however as I'm not very technical!! Enjoy your time on the forum, cheers, Simon

Thanks Simon.

Certanly, I don't like my wheels...I'm right behind a set of Enkei RPF1 Wheels, Silver Finish....

I will keep the exterior as It is, the front and rear bumpers from Renault would fit but don't want to make it look as a Clio, It is a Platina/Symbol.

I will install a set of leather Recaros, not "racing seats", something like the "Specialist" or "expert" models.

As for the engine, I'm still trying to decide isf I go turbo or N/A....It all depends on if I can get the right guy to set-up a turbo engine or not.

Front brakes are on It's way, KTEC doesn't stock those, they are 3-4 weeks lead time + shipping to Mexico....in the mean time I will install my SS braided brake hoses, the front ones are easy...but the rear ones not...my stock lines are steel tube crimped to a hose and another piece of steel tubing, I am trying to sort that some how..have some ideas.

Regards

O.K., I have a couple of Thech Questions:

If I am going to install the FlowTek Manifold like this:

InatkeManifold2.jpg

Is it a good idea to get a Bigger throttle body like this (and of course "bigger" injectors)?

ThrottleBodies.jpg

Someone told me the BIG Throttle Body if from an Old Laguna, Do someone knows the model?, where to get it?

Thanks

I just order this nice item:

Will order next week my ENKEI RPF-1 Rims.... Thanks to Valentin_N for hook me up to the store!

EnkeiRims.jpg

Don't know yet if going 17" and use same size of tires (205-17-40) or could be best to order 16" and buy tires 205-15-55, what Do you think??

  Renault Symbol
I ordered today the dbilass intake & air filter, also the ENKEI Wheels...It's going to take some 3 weeks before they arrive to me...will post some pics when I get them.

Can someone help on the Throttle Body Issue?

Thanks!

LOL, Yes...This car(same as Renault Symbol or Renault Thalia) was sold in my country by Nissan, under the name of Platina, It has different headlights, I installed the Clio headlights because I like them much more.

This car is sold on the continent as a clio saloon.

In Mexico, apparently, Nissan have rebranded it and sold it on.

Renault own around 70% of Nissan.

Theres someone on here that sells ready made turbo kits for the k4m , no mods to the pistons etc are required iirc

  Renault Symbol
There's alot of effort gone into that!

Tell me about it!, a lot of effort and LOTS of $$$$$...every single part has been imported from UK, USA and Germany!

So what chassis is it then? I'm as confused as everyone else!

Chasis is the same used on Renault Clio 4-door, 1.6Lts., in other Countries sold as Renault Symbol or Thalia, in Mexico was sold by Nissan as "Platina"

Theres someone on here that sells ready made turbo kits for the k4m , no mods to the pistons etc are required iirc

Too late, No turbo anymore...12:1 Forged Pistons, Forged Rods, CatCams, Bigger Throttle Body and Bigger Injectors are on It's way, PRO_FLOW in the US are going to port and polish the cylinder head and Piasini is going to re-map my ECU

Hah that's awesome, so glad you are changing the wheels I do not like the ones on it at the moment :)

Those wheels didn't like to me either....but they were the only ones available at the time I went to the Car Store...no too many choices here, I'm glad I got my Enkei Rims and Falken Tires

What kind of power are you hoping for from all of this week , looks like your spending alot of money on it

Not really sure, This car has only 70H.P's to the front wheels, factory says it has 110H.P.'s but it may be at sea level-engine shaft :rasp: if I get 130-140H.P's to the front wheels I will be very happy...not hard to get, with the complete exhaust system and the re-map I already have, got 90 H.P.'s, with the new intake, injectors, throttle body, the new higher compression, the cams and the Port job I guess is feasible to get 140 H.P.'s

  Renault Symbol
Mi rims and tires finally arrived....the rims are at the machine shop to fabricate some "spacers" for the center hole, the rims are 73m.m. bora and my car has 60 m.m. axles..I will post some pics once they are done

  Renault Symbol
I quite like this car.

Interested to see it with the new wheels.

Soon, very soon...the rims and tires are now in Mexico, just waiting for the center caps...I'm very frustrated :cry:when I saw those were not included and the sales guy didn't said nothing until I asked....another $120.00 Usd. to get those.

:) very interesting project and I have to say really nice car!!

Thanks!

Could you have not put a 172/182 engine in?

Not so easy to do, in my country only few Clio Sport 2.0Lts. are available, most of those You find for sale are in very bad shape, ready for a complete engine rebuild, those in very nice condition are rare and very expensive(a shame to buy one just as a "donor"), another fact is: I spent some time looking for a "decent priced" engine at ebay UK and after doing long research It would cost me an arm and a leg to import an engine, subframe, gearbox, etc., once imported, anyways have to spend LOTS on tuning parts, working on my OEM engine will never be as fast as with a 2.0 engine, but It will be faster than any other Clio 1.6 or Nissan 1.6 in my Country...and I'm having lots of fun!
