Re: Z4 - Perfect No More

You wont pay your excess as it wasnt your fault, but you will have to declare that accident when you come to renew your insurance.

Re: Z4 - Perfect No More

Usually if the accident isn't your fault you have to pay the excess then you get re-embursed when the fault of the accident is properly agreed.

I just told them I didn't have the money for my excess and they paid it instead.

Thing is, if the accident is declared as 50/50 it doesn't make a difference, as far as I'm aware even if it was the audi's fault, but the clio hit you, the clio drivers insurance would have to pay for your repairs. So find out who hit your car as that's who will pay regardless.

Ahh mate what a ballache! Don't worry, as long the insurance companies involved don't drag their heels then all will be fine.

Remember as well, its YOUR call where it gets repaired. It doesn't have to be where they dictate, so make sure it gets to a decent repairer.

This! They will give you the well used line "We can't guarantee the work if it goes to an unapproved repairer" but any decent bodyshop will guarantee it themselves anyway.

Re: Z4 - Perfect No More

I came out to my mx5 earlier to find something similar, there's only one car it oculd have been becasue of how the car park is, i knocked on the guys door and he flat out deny's it, but i know 99% it was him.

Thanks for all the sympathy/love.

I'd heard it's my choice where it gets repaired but I don't really know anywhere amazing around here. I guess I'll have to have a look.

I'm not sure whether to send it to the local BMW or not?

To any of you who have dealt with such a thing, what are my chances of having this repaired in 3 weeks?

I just hope they don't write it off, worst nightmare that'd be.

Just moved it, it drives fine but the passenger door doesn't want to open and but does with force and the outer door handle is knackard from it.

Not a happy man right now.

Good I'd say, as long as you take it somewhere good. Your insurance will pay for it straight away and wait to get the money back from the 3rd party. I got a slight rear end in the clio and got the car back less than a week later.

Brilliant :)

That's cheered me up a bit.

Just got to see how badly he's playing silly beggers now. I've got a feeling he's really going to drag his heels. Never did send me the Audi drivers email. FFS.

Don't worry about that.

Get on the phone to your insurance, explain the situation, give them the clio drivers details, ask them very kindly to waive the excess as it's clearly not your fault take it to get fixed, problem solved :)

As you get the choice to take it where YOU want, find somewhere local that can do a good job but also doesn't have a high work load at the moment.

Yeah there's a coachworks near me that R-sport steve uses, seem brilliant.

I'll give them a call first thing and see how busy they are and if they're insurance approved.

I'll be up early as hell to get this sorted, I want it done yesterday TBH.

Re: Z4 - Perfect No More

You're telling me, I feel so annoyed I don't even know how to express how annoyed I am.

I'm mainly so bad because I haven't been able to talk to insurance yet etc, after tomorrow I should feel better, much better.

Re: Z4 - Perfect No More

Been on the phone all morning, and I mean ALL morning.

Everything is now sorted, assessor coming over today/tomorrow.

I have decided not to pick my own bodyshop, I picked the best out of the bunch that were approved. This is because by picking your own bodyshop you have to pick up the excess until it's sorted and you do not get a courtesy car. The place I've picked is frequently full of range rovers/mercs/BMW's so I imagine the quality of work should be good. Having spoken to them they sound like really nice people too, which matters to me.

My current situation means when it goes to the bodyshop I'll get a courtesy car or similar quality (they even asked if I wanted another softtop) LOL! I've said if there's one available then sure... Anyway, I pay NOTHING at all, all excesses are waived and it's all dealt with by a company on behalf of admiral. Hopefully she'll be proper mint again in no time.

Feel much better now, just need their car so I can get around!

:)

Well actually, the young lad tried to only give the Audi driver his details and was just going to drive off and leave mine. It's only that a friend saw it out of the window and ran out that I had any contact!

Re: Z4 - Perfect No More

Good news, Rob!

Nothing handles like a hire car..

Knowsit. ;)

Good news !

Thankfully.

Estimator phoned, will be at mine at 2-2:30. Hopefully I'll get a time estimate once he's finished.

Just had a better look and he's grazed a wheel too... full respray so they match you say?? LOL

Fag wagon...

Wait for it...

I had a bad feeling about that happening, I have said "if there's a decent on available" so hopefully I either get a good one or a hardtop.

I don't really give a monkeys what it is as long as I can get places!
