Middle aged driving w*nkers (pointless RANT)

Driving around Lincoln I'm so sick of people doing 10mph while you watch the rest of the traffic driving off into the distance, and people NEVER use indicators

I have no idea how modded car owners get such a bad rep - it's the "normal" people who are utter tossers

Driving to work today and I'm following a middle aged bloke in a jaguar estate diesel with a kid in the back and wife in the front
He doesn't indicate ever - at a set of traffic lights he was on the left hand side doing walking pace with no indicator - I was turning right - last minute he just turns right nearly wiping me out

He then proceeds to do 10mph with me shaking my head (and I want to point out I'm in my 306 daily drive not the Clio) - so I indicate and go to overtake him - he then NAILS IT - black smoke everywhere

f***s sake - so I pull back in and follow him - we get to a train crossing and as soon as I'm on the crossing he stops leaving me parked on the railway lines - then gives me two fingers

So I get out the car and he then drives off
So I get back in and set off again - next set of lights he stops - I stop behind him - and then he starts reversing at me!
WTF????

And the stupidest thing is he acts suprised when I got out the car and started punching his drivers side window and trying to drag him out the car

I just don't get people these days - driving is a nightmare. Anything other than track driving is less fun than having teeth pulled :(

This sounds like something off Saints Row or GTA. Terrible that he had his wife and kid in the car though. What a complete tosser.

you are that tosser who gets unnessiccary road rage then?

far too many about these days and imo is part of the problem

I don't at all - I used to be terrible for it - but these days I just drive around with music on in a car worth £300 and don't give a f**k

The driving off while I was trying to overtake didn't bother me - even not indicating I'm getting used to - but I'm sorry forcing me to park on a busy railway line (Lincoln central) and then reversing at me is the equivalent of someone in a train station pushing you onto the line and then running at you

If that happens you knock the f**k out of them whoever you are

People think that if they're in a car they can act like a total arsehole with no consequences - it drives me nuts

Why not just remove yourself from the situation?

The moment he forced you to stop on the railway you should have taken his registration number and called the police.

You are never rewarded for being the "big man". In fact, quite the opposite - the big man is the one that always ends up in Court.

The fact you did it while his wife and kid were in the car is frankly disgusting.

I've done that over a dozen times - the police always say they'll talk to them and never do. It's not even really classed as a criminal offense and it's my word against him and his wife.

I don't care if his wife, kid, mum, grandma and aunty are in the car - he should think about that before driving like a t**t.
I would never consider driving like that with a kid in the car. It's his problem not mine

Being a railway crossing, it's a little more serious and I believe they are always covered by CCTV?

Saying the Police won't do anything is not justification to get out of your car and start punching other cars, trying to drag their owners out etc. It's just a fast track way to lose your licence and potentially end up in prison.

If you cannot control your temper, the best solution is always to simply remove yourself from the situation.

What an arsehole.

I wouldn't have got out of the car though, these things arent worth getting a broken nose over. Probably the reason I've never really had a run-in with another driver.

I only get things like, yesturday a guy in a Merc was getting pissed off because I wouldn't break the speed limit for him (40mph dual carriageway). It finished with him angrily undertaking and that was that. 3 miles on I pulled up to the same roundabout as him. Zero progress.

If he undertook you, I doubt it was your speed that was the issue, but rather the fact you were sat in the outside lane while there was clearly space on the inside.

I can see why you would be pissed off, but getting out of your car to confront him knowing his wife and kid is in the car will earn you nil 'cool' points. Like allready said remove yourself from the situation and laugh about it afterwards. Its funny with the whole getting out the car to confront someone business, if you do it repeatadly i can one million percent you will confront the wrong person and get owned either there and then or at a later date

Mikeh, reverse the situation and then think in that instant what you'd do..

I had some knob head earlier in the week Phil that as I was turning into the road he was approaching down on there was a car parked on his side of the road..

He then proceeded to come around that car with it clearly with me now been on said road my right of way..

So I proceeded right upto the parked car and made it tight as said middle aged Wanker driver in alfa didn't stop.

Middle aged Wanker driver then proceeded to crawl past and wind down the window and tell mr to f**k off..

I'm like wtf, your telling me to f**k off for your inability to follow the highway code because your in a rush?? Do me a favour!!

Window wound down and I asked him what his bloody problem was and why he failed to stop and then tell me to f**k off, his reply was your only using "my" road as a short cut and I'm in a rush

Your road :s and your in a rush, so that gives you the right to drive like a knob and tell me to f**k off, I think not..

Another example of middle aged Wanker drivers,

On a 100 yard stretch of road on which I needed to be in the outside lane at the end of it, at the speed limit, with a speed camera... its not an issue.
The only reason he didn't undertake immediately was because the inside lane was not ''clearly'' available.

LOL at all the goody two shoes. I'll remove my self before i burst a vessel, so carry on and have a nice day after you have potentially put my life in danger on the tracks.

I'm sure it's Lincoln - driving lessons seem optional!

Sorry, you got out on a level crossing?

Do you think I wanted to sit in the car on a railway line while some wanker in front of me wouldn't let me get off?? I could have been killed if the barriers came down

What would you do if your car broke down on a level crossing?

And before anyone says anything - there was a car behind me also on the level crossing with a woman and 2 kids in it - and one behind her - so none of us could reverse

Given the chance I'd of dragged him out his car and driven it out the way for him - f**king idiot

and I'll enjoy my driving licence and clean record while you're either sat in prison or on a bus after the next time someone does this to you.

The thing is, however angry you may be, how much worse are you going to feel when the consequences of your actions are losing your licence, a fine or even prison?

How can you be so sure?

All it takes is for him to phone the police with your reg, his wife to confirm his story and you've got an instant date with the Magistrates.

The fact he stopped on the rail crossing is irrelevant at this point, as nowhere in the law does it allow for someone to take violent action in revenge.

  Clio 182 arctic
I for 1 never follow anyone onto a level crossing unless they are clear of it and there is room for me.
although he was a t**t, you must have been up his ass if he stopped after the crossing with not enough room for you to clear it.

  GT 86
From your description his driving was utterly crap, but sadly I am sure its something most people see a lot of the time. The problem you would have is if reported you to the Police for your behaviour bearing in mind his wife and a child were in the car with him. Section 5 public order offence for you I'm afraid.:S

I love all the 'holier than thou' comments. Someone puts your life in danger and you're in the wrong for getting upset about it? Do me a favour.

People don't seem to understand that doing s**t like this guy did is no different to slashing a knife at your neck. Put my life in danger intentionally and I'm going to be very very upset about it regardless whether I'm in a car, on the street or in my home.

its called darwinism. if you cant get off the train tracks dont go on there. pretty simple.

if he wasnt in such a rage about the guy not indicating then id daresay he wouldnt have been up his chuff untill he decided to stop.

getting out and raging at the guy isnt helping matters at all really is it... as much of a tit as he might have been

  Clio V6
The guy in the Jag sounds like a right knob head to me, I can understand why you reacted the way you did. It won't get you anywhere though mate so just have faith that he'll get what's coming to him.

  Shit little Yaris...
Erm, so you entered a level crossing which didn't have a clear exit? Pretty sure that's a no-no in it's own right. But the guy in front was clearly a tool.

  RB 182
And has nobody thought that there may well have been clear space in front if this " middle aged knobhead" and he purposely stopped short to hold the OP on the level crossing??

I assumed that was the case. I'm sure the OP knows it's best not to stop on a level crossing!

Wrong - the police just come and "chat" to you at your house - first offense, clean record. Even if there was 8 mates in his car it's still a civil offense and his word against yours

There was no damage to vehicle and I didn't hit him - you can't end up in prison for shouting at someone
If he'd got out it would have been different but meh.. he would have deserved it

Exactly this - there was no cars for 150 yards in front of him and I was following at normal stopping distance behind him - he anchored on unexpectedly. I didn't hit him but did end up right up his bumper and the car behind up mine due to the unexpected emergency stop

I wouldn't go onto a railway crossing with no exit!!

So you got that off your chest... ;)

Let it slide next time. Pointless pointing it out to people like him.
Live and learn.

Dunno what it is, no signaling when turning... holding the brakes on when stationairy at a traffic light (non auto-box cars!), seeing a sea red... people speeding or underspeeding... left laning behind you on the hard shoulder (get out of my way!!!)... calling (done those cheap-ass in ear/microphone headset), texting in cars... looking for a parking space without notifying your purpose to people cueing behind you... driving with front foglights on because it looks sooo sporty in your 1.1... fake-ass blinding HID lightbulbs...

Phil, you should've just drive like a dick right back at him, overtake him and slow down etc, not indicate and so on.

Or, since you were in a £300 daily... Had a little bump ;)

So you got that off your chest... ;)

driving with front foglights on because it looks sooo sporty in your 1.1.

I've taken to turning on/ flashing my rear fogs* when people behind me do this... Douches

As long as nobody is in front of me because then I'd be a hypocrite

Its not a civil offence at all otherwise it wouldn't be arrestable under SOCA. I'm not saying you wouldn't get a caution in the end for it

A person is guilty of an offence if he: uses threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour, or disorderly behaviour
within the hearing or sight of a person likely to be caused harassment, alarm or distress thereby."

That's not all the act but I would say that this bit applied to your behaviour, that's how it would be viewed especially with a child in the car, imagine the fear a child would have if someone is trying to get to his dad in the car.

It's got nothing to do with who is in the wrong. It's about who has the intelligence to remove themselves from the situation which can only possibly get worse.

Just getting out of your car and shouting at him or banging on his window is a Public Order offence (Causing harassment, alarm or distress) - this is a criminal offence. Dragging someone out of their car is straight away Common Assault and again, a criminal offense.

Phil, you should've just drive like a dick right back at him, overtake him and slow down etc, not indicate and so on.

Oh Phillip :dapprove:

You're a super angry man and you obviously drove right on his tail. Regardless of where he stopped, or what he did, getting out and punching his window and trying to fight him doesn't solve anything does it?

One day you'll do that to someone who has a knife.

  Nothing at the mo :(
LoL at all the big headed nonces in this thread... Guessing all the people who have moaned at the guy about it being "illegal" and "public order act blah blah" clearly doesnt speed, Never drives fast, indicates on every corner and is never a knob... So how about you just give the guy a break.
