Manifold > Cat Fitting Kit. Help. Order of nuts/washers.

Fitted my Yozza + Decat the other day, but was blowing at the manifold/cat joint so bought a new fitting kit from Renault.
However in the kit I seem to have more bits than came off my original,
so was just wondering if someone could clarify which order they go in.
I've had a rough guess:

Fibre washer not between the join. After under the spring then the other washer under the spring cup.
soo

Bolt
Cup on the mani side.
Then
Fibre washer
Spring
Other washer
Other cup
Nut

Thank you OP, Jon.G and mwn11, i ordered my kit and collected it Saturday, and looked at it very confused lol, its not what i expected. I was going to ask the same question and search for pictures, so will bookmark this page.

Thank you again.

Cheers guys. Just what I wanted.
I was just about to say on closer inspection, I think the cup think is rusted to the manifold side of the joint, that's why I didn't think I had it on my old one.
Edit: Just wanted to check, the fibre washer, it has a rounded side and a flat side: which side goes against the spring?
So It should look like this?:

Youl have to kncok the old cup out with a screw driver and a hammer. Usually rusted in.

I always put the fibre washer flat side on the cat/decat but doubt it makes that much difference.

And yes thats how i have mine and believe its right :)

Official renault kit?

Also Jons decat looks like a scorpion decat so the flange isnt welded to the rest of the pipe. so will look abit further away.

Your springs dont look compressed at all. does the opening of the decat look any different to the normal cat? And did the normal cat blow?

Yep Official Renault kit. Got the part number off West Renaults page.
Yea Mine's the Yozza decat so is slightly different.
Not sure with regards to blowing with the normal cat. I never checked tbh.

Hmm. Might sound silly but sure the decat isnt upside down?

No sure on the yozza decat but usually the lambda hole is more on the passenger side?

Assuming the gasket is sat OK I think I'd be adding washers between the spring and the flange until the fitted length of the spring is the same as in the picture from Jon.

The Lamda sensor is on the same side as it plugs in. You can't see it in my picture.
The gasket basically sits flush inside the decat pipe. As long as its in perfectly straight.
only thing is the gasket don't seem to fit snug on the collar of the manifold, I could wiggle it up and down a tiny bit.

And no matter how compressed the springs are, obviously its flush between the two bits of metal where they meet,
so if the springs were compressed more wouldn't really do much, I mean the springs are defo compressed a bit.

so the front face of the decat is tight against the manifold? If so something is wrong there :( Were you able to compare the new gasket with the old?

Yea that's right its tight against it. That's what I thought, I could push it flush against the manifold with my hand, regardless of bolts/springs etc.
Well I didn't compare them like right next to each other, but they looked the same, size, shape, material, just obviously old one was black with dirt lol.
I don't get how it can be the wrong gasket though lol. I bought it from Renault, part no: 6000073668, says it on the bag as well.

I suppose it's possible that the wrong bit was in the bag, but if they looked similar they probably were....

Where did the decat come from? Maybe the flange is wrong on that? It looks pretty big.

Had a thought in the night. Try the metal ring/gasket that was already on the manifold before you bought the new kit.

That way pretty much rules out that renault may have put a mis fitting gasket in.

Right. Bit of an update. Swapped the decat back for the cat the other day, to compare the fitting.
Took some photo's of both:

I tried both gaskets, and as you can see the gasket in the decat sits actually inside the lip, whereas on the cat it sits slightly out, thus when I bolt it onto the manifold, the cat doesn't blow, you can still see part of the gasket when its all bolted up, whereas previously on my photo above with the decat, the metal was flush:

Just thought I'd post some pictures up first before ringing Fred, just to make sure I definitely haven't done anything wrong!? Don't want to be wasting his time!

Really want to get a decat back on though , because it sounded sooo much better with the decat !
