AA or RAC should be able to get the door open for you. Its probably not best for someone to post on an open forum how to break into a clio!

Its not an open forum, if you don't sign in, you can't see s**t. Also, seriously? You think all the car theives in the world are just sitting there on their laptop waiting for the day some one tells them how to open a clio's door without breaking the window?

I guess you're the sort of person that covers up your reg plate in photos yes?

Keys in the ignition? Or where are they? Bend top of door out, wedge, get hook i.e coat hanger and hook up keys. if not, try press the button on the dash.

Call your insurance company if your policy includes lockouts. If not, call a locksmith to unlock your doors. Most locksmiths offer car door unlocking services.

Doesn't the door auto lock after a certain period of time? Maybe he left keys on seat or something and shut the door and forgot?

Afraid I cant help as i've never seen inside a Clio door, but I bet the car self locked with the keys in it? Alot of people do this, Nissans with intelligent keys are notorious for this. Never ever leave your keys in the car without at least a window open!

Does the Clio have covers over the lock rod mechanism and lock itself? If not, fish about with a coathanger. We have a small bag that you can pump up, which safely expands the doorshut open.

I managed to do this once when working on my sisters Clio.
Had it on stands and wheels off then turned the engine on and put it in gear. As I shut the door I knew what I had done. :(

Got it open the way iimushroomzii said. Pull the top of the passenger door open about an inch and wedge it with a bit of wood. Then get a long garden cane and push the unlock button on the dash.

did you not damage the door?

after driving, yes.

You have to be doing something like 4mph with the engine running before it kicks in and locks the door......

Also if I unlock mine, but dont touch the doors, a minute later it relocks and re-arms the alarm......just in case you mis-press the button walking away.

I cant work out how with either of these its possible to lock your keys in though.....?!?

.......however if I ever get out of the car with the engine on or off but the keys inside I never fully shut the door or leave the window open enough as I am paranoid it'll lock me out. :S

Nick managed it at FCS, the car auto locked whilst stationary for no reason at all.

He missed his track time too! :(

I wonder what the ECU/alarm needs as a criteria to autolock...? This is the reason I'm paranoid of mine....

Its usually just if you unlock, but dont open a door within a certain time, or wuto-lock when above 4-5mph. But they like to have fits occasionally, so I never trust it!

mines a standard mk2 and i didnt realised it had an auto lock feature until i left them on my passenger seat and closed the door. I dont think it works if the keys are left in, but im not sure. Hope you get em out alright

Cover the window in gaffa tape before you smash, saves it going everywhere. £1 for gaffa tape, £0 for a brick of a nearby falling wall, £20 for glass, cheaper than the aa!

Bending door out, pressing button... free..

Nicks auto locking is playing up so he managed to lock himself out with the keys sat on the floor where his passenger seat isn't...

Two AA men, an inflatable bag, two wedges, a roll of tape and two long bits of wire managed to hook the keys back up to where they prised the door apart.
All for a tenner. Win.

You'll need to use a coathanger or similar to drag them out.

Remember though, it's not a race.

Rush, and you'll crash and burn.

i didn't think it was possible for a clio to auto lock when sitting still either (apart from the unlocking and not opening the door bit)

bending the door out isn't actually as hard as you think, i just cut a wedge of wood and slowly tapped it in, no damage to the door at all, you need to be pretty handy to press the unlock button or hook the door handle though lol

Shirley its easier to just hit the button on the dash rather than try hook the damn keys?

Its easier to man to man up & just use a brick ;)

When i was at uni, i locked the keys in my fiesta. Ended up using a stepladder off a nearby building site to smash the windscreen (as i had a spare) - got some rather amusing looks, especially as i had parked on the main high street ....

right lol, the story on how it goes is... i unlocked the car, opend the door and put my keys in the ignition.... 1 problem is my drivers door doesnt have a sensor on it so it thinks the door was never open in the first place and clios lock automatically if they arent touched :(.... normally i do this in the mornings and have to open the passenger door to dissable it but it was 7am and im still asleep hhaha. so after that i have a locked car with the keys in the ignition lol...

All done now, just wedged the door then got some thick wire down there to push the window switch... no power :( tried twisting the key but wouldnt budge so got pissed off and started stabbing it and boom it turned accidently :D. doing this ive push the wipers on so now i have a locked car with the ignition on and wipers on full blast lmao! by now my fingers and hands are sore, im pissed off and late for work hahaha i went for the window switch, but as i go to push it it automatically unlocks :S it all seems to good to be true and im now confused lol. tried the same whilst in my girlfriends clio and it dont unlock so i must have a guardian angle watching me who decided to watch me suffer for 2 hours!!!

thansk guys!
