Either ends of mine at the front have bits missin and flap around a bit.

Renault quoted me £120 for one brand new LOL

I just bought one from a breaker on here (Sutt Autos) for cheap cheap. Might be worth giving him a PM.

Im in the middle of developing a 3mm aluminium (checker plate) one for my mate (PJS) after the road attacked his plastic one and cracked his sump. I think that's the way forward!

Im also making one out of 3mm aluminum, think I'll be done with it next week. Managed to straddle some badass curbs on track once and I scratched the plastic cover badly = just half an inch or so from the sump :S So better safe than sorry IMO!

Plastic cover does one thing though, keeps road dirt and s**t out of the engine bay. Dont have it on my 1,6 16v and It looks like fook compared to my 182.

^^^ Plastic undertray keeps the oil off the ground... just cosmetics like that plastic engine cover.

Chuck it!

Ohw wait it creates a low pressure underneath the car for more downforce. :rasp:

Resurrecting an old thread here but....

Mine is damaged (son went over high kerb on track and put a big hole in it).

Does it provide any bracing or locating for the front bumper, or can it literally just be binned?

Binned? Depends if you dont mind when you get an oil leak, which then drips onto this drip tray, then goes through the whole and makes a mess of your drive. Probably best replace IMO

Or if every time you change the oil, you find the undertray is handy for producing opitimal coverage of old oil on the garage floor. Bin is the best place for it, it doesnt provide any bracing or anything for anything.

If you or your son are going to make a habit of parking in the kitty litter, I would repair or replace it, as it keeps the stones from getting in the belts.
Are the 172/182`s trays any different to other ph2`s?

I always take them off and bin them on my own.

I'd rather know if there was a leak. And it's a hassle taking it off and on to service.
