Steering wheel refurb/button removal question

  200,182 Trophy, Cup
I've done a search for this and can't find anything. I've just got a cup steering wheel of a guy, the base version with no thumb pads.
Now I'm going to send it off to snappy, my only concern is spending the money and when I fit it the cruise buttons are faulty or something.
Does anyone know if the button system will remove off the wheel, it looks like they are on a plastic frame held on by 3 clips. I'm obviously thinking if it's faulty being able to swap the buttons off the wheel on the car which definitely do work.

Yes fully transferable Tony.

Paul, I've got to the point where I can remove the sprung plastic horn "horse shoe" shaped top part but I can't get to the cruise button screws which are under the lower half of the "horse shoe" horn ring. This is attached onto three posts (the ones the horn springs go over) each of which is bonded into the hard rubber moulding of the wheel itself. No amount of levering under it will free it off the 3 plastic posts.

The three plastic legs that are sunk into the wheel do come out. You have to get a screwdriver down the side and around the legs and open the flexi rubber base and work the legs out until they eventually pop out.

Thanks Paul, I found a pic of one you sold and guessed that's what you had done. I'm sending a cup wheel off to snappy and just want to make sure it was possible in case there is a problem with the buttons when I swap it over, I only want to swap them once really otherwise I would take my original wheel off and send that !
