Wiring kit
Just bought an active Juice a12 1200w subwoofer. Can someone tell me what wiring kit I need for this?
Cheers
Ron.

Re: Wiring kit
Just buy a normal 30amp wiring kit Ron, it will have the Rca leads, power cable with fuse, ground cable and few other bits and pieces.

Re: Wiring kit
You'll need a subwoofer wiring kit

Most of the ones I can see on eBay are 8 gauge for a 1200w amp? Is that what I need? Sorry to sound like a tw*t but I know f all about this stuff!!

Re: Wiring kit
Halfords do a Vibe 8 Gauge for £20.

All sorted. Surprised myself with how easy it was to fit!! Even getting the power cable through the bulk head was a piece of piss!!
Oh yeah and the CS guide helped a lot!!

So my next question is........
My head unit has low and high pass filters built into it. I'm assuming that these can be used to take the bass from the component speakers and to let the subwoofer deal with the bass? Sorry for sounding like a tard!

Re: Wiring kit
Tbh Ron, as long as the RCA leads for the sub are in the sub out bit just stick the HU to a factory EQ and leave it be. Saves a lot of messing about changing setting etc.

Yes... that's exactly what they're for.
Stick them both on the same, probably something like 120 or 160Hz and see what it sounds like !
You should be able to turn the sub on / off via the HU so you can see what difference it makes. Standard Clio speakers are actually ace when they're not trying to do the low end stuff.
Also you should be able to change the phase on the sub from the HU - normal / reverse.. one might sound better than the other.. give it a go and see what you think.
If you get completely lost, pop over and we'll sort it out !
