Help identifying this?

Hi guys, i fixed my arch liner problem but found this in the process, it was hanging down near the left front, anybody know what it is and where it should be attached to?

Battery drain. Fitted as an overflow from factory on the original battery

Oh cool, so it's supposed to just be clipped against something and left free?

on the mk3 its clipped onto the inside of the sump tray hidden behind the arch liner its probably something smilar on mk2

It is supposed to be clipped to something, but not sure what and is then just meant to hang free to drain with out getting into contact with anything as it passes fluid. But if it is not connected to the batt then rip it out, it's not needed and comes out very easily
