I have a simular problem as others that is my Clio RS 200 Cup suffers with and intermitant surging problem even at normal engine temperture.

I'm aware of this problem when the engine is at cold its even mentioned in CAR monthly magazine February issue 595 page 97. Its done 12000miles now and has been fully serviced by our local Renault dealer off which its now been in for this problem twice, and as I type this is its currently with them again for it.

This problem happens at low speeds i.e. say upto 30MPH when accelarating in either 2nd or 3rd gear it will start to kangeroo on light throttle settings to the point where the only way to stop it is by dipping the clutch and reving the engine to clear it, or pushing the throttle down to a much deeper level which shoots you up the car in front's rear end!!!

The local dealer has checked most if not all the areas which would cause this problem and checked that the engine software is the lattested, however to date has not been able to find any faults or engine error codes.

The worse of it is as mentioned it is intermitant and every time its with the dealer todate has never shown up on any test run with them.
It will run like a swiss watch for a time without any problem and the appear again out of the blue.

Renault UK does not seem to have any ideas either as to a cure for this. In fairness to our local dealer who had the car for a week they were unable to find any problem with it. Thier has been no changes of any componnets on the car its is still as standard from the factory.

Now the car is now just over two years old, and never had this problem during the first 18 months etc.

If anybody out there has any idears then i would be pleased to here them

Hi knuckles what do you mean by mapping it out? do you mean getting it re chipped ? and if so who would take on such a thing?

'chip' is an ugly word but yeah, a remap... Where are you from? There are a few specialists dotted about that could help, rstuning in leeds, btm in birmingham(?) and ktec down south somewhere lol
