Ferrari Trackday @ Oulton park
Headed over to Oulton to test out the new Purchase 70-200 F4 and was greeted to a pitlane full of ferraris!
If i'm honest they were a bit boring on track but they were great to look at up close. I need to get to grips with the 70-200 as i dont feel my photos are very sharp something to work on

Riad, have you found a paid job for this yet mate, because those are not amateur/hobby-ist photos - those are pro and deserve the recognition/exposure to go with it.

Re: Ferrari Trackday @ Oulton park
Love the photo of the yellow and red Ferraris... Some really nice shots there

Re: Ferrari Trackday @ Oulton park
Sod the Ferraris, why has Sam got a sodding Macca GT3 car in his garage?

Afraid not mate, Spoke to a few magazines etc everybody wants something for free. I'm getting paid from the BBC shooting press stills for Snog Marry Avoid though but motorsport is where my passion is just got to keep on pushing and get my name out there!

He's sold the X-Bow hasn't he?

Re: Ferrari Trackday @ Oulton park
Quality photos!
What's your technique for those panning pics? I have sort of managed shots where the car is quite a distance away, but close up I always mess it up.

This. Would love to see what you can do with the camera at Cadwell where you can get proper close to the action.
Excellent pics mate.

Cheers mate, Most are shot at about 1/80 so a slow shutter speed this gives great backround and car motion. Its practice mate as the car is in front of you you need to make sure the framing is right so if the car goes past and your lens is zoomed to far in then you need to zoom out and leave so the car is in the frame then leave it at that point for example 150mm then track the car until its bang on in the view finder and snap away!
Sorry about the s**te explanation but it just happens for me haha! If your at Oulton any time soon give me a shout i can help you out if you want

Re: Ferrari Trackday @ Oulton park
I kinda get what you are saying, I'm relying on burst mode at the moment so that at least 1 out of a dozen shots comes out somewhat half decent
Cheers for the offer! I'm actually thinking of going to Oulton on Saturday for the BARC Club Car Championship.

Re: Ferrari Trackday @ Oulton park
I always feel the pictures from my 55-200mm arent sharp. Think it's just because I'm so used to my 50mm 1.8.
Have to say, the pics do look sharp to me though! Sharper than anything moving I've taken1
