need help got gearbox problem clio 172

Got a 2001 172 span wheels last night then just reved up car now put it in gear nothin jacked car up put in gear turned wheels and dosent turn engine over no signs of shaft broke isit diff in box are someone said a circlip??? Im lost lol thanks

Well can some1 help me before take box out wen on jack u can put in gear turn wheels but its not tryin to turn engine i can here a clicking in box ????

Try posting in The technical area. It does sound broken though, could be diff, new box of refurb maybe.

Best taking it to a garage.
