Dodgy laquer, any easy fixes?
So, having lovingly refurbished and sprayed my other halfs wheels myself for Christmas, he went to clean them and managed to pick the most agressive wheel cleaner he could find, which has somehow cut into the laquer and made it run. Now the wheels arent perfect and it winds me up!
Is there any simple way to retify this? Or is it a case of sanding them back down to the paint, another couple layers or paint and re-laquering?
Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks
Ellen

Re: Dodgy laquer, any easy fixes?
Depends how deep the wheel cleaner cut.
If its just top layer of laquer, you'd probably get away with sanding down with high grade sandpaper, and polishing back up.

I used Montana clear laquer. I dont think its too deep the finish just looks really marred now.
