Places to Visit when in Wales
Hi guys.
I have created a list of great driving roads, along with detailed maps, directions and descriptions of each route that can all be found in Wales recommended by members that have driven them.
So if you are ever in Wales and want a good driving road to visit or just fancy checking out what that area could be like then visit each of the links below. They are categorised into North East, South East, South West and North West.
The list is a working progress and all the actual links can be found in the Wales Region section. So if you want to view them, you need to join the Welsh Region section.
North East Wales
The Evo Triangle
South East Wales
The Black Mountains Brecon
South West Wales
The Preseli Mountains Pembrokeshire
North West Wales
Llanberis Pass Snowdonia (Top Gear Road)
More routes will be added in time. If you have a route you would like to share, please post details within this thread.

Re: Places to Visit when in Wales
I'm off to Cardiff in a few weeks as I'm dropping my stepdad off to watch the rugby so I'm going to take my camera and make a day of it.
Don't particually want to stay in the city centre too many people on a Sunday for my liking.
Where's good to go for a few hours that's not far?

A few hours drive or a chill? If you want to park up, have some food but avoid the town crush then either the bay or head to Newport it's great

A spirited drive somewhere and somewhere to stop take photos would probably be ideal.
I'm probably going to be hanging about for a fair few hours so all idea appreciated

A4107 'Bwlch' Road between Abergwynfi/Treorchy/Nantymoel. Basically a mountain road linking up three valleys:

Best avoided in Winter as it's pretty treacherous due to snow/ice.

'Route 8' (according to Google) between Machynlleth and Staylittle. Drove down this road during Rally GB, unfortunately just as it was getting dark.
