Here is an update to my Elan Valley post with an accurate route map which I tested on Saturday! And a review.
I discovered the B4574 road (Mid-West Wales) for myself while lost at some point last year, I decided to revisit the road again today! The roads were dry in places, but conditions were a bit damp and cold, so I'll have to revisit in a month or two!
The drive that I went on and would highly recommend starts from the Renault garage in Aberystwyth, heading out on the A4120 to Devil's Bridge, then just before reaching Devil's Birdge you take the B4574 through Cwmystwyth to the Elan Valley where you finally get on 'Route 81' according to Google maps
. The distance was about 27 miles one way.
I took some photos but since I only had a mobile phone with no zoom and was with a non car enthusiast (dunno why I invited them along really), I only took a few otherwise I'd have had a better selection of road shots to upload.

The B4574 / valley part of the route excellent drive with lots of winding roads, dips along with some excellent views and parts of easy to view open road. Due to having to go a bit slow on a lot of the route for safety (the bends are still fun though), one of the highlights is actually the return journey, re-joining the A4120 where you are thankful to be back on normal sized roads but still have some nice scenery and some fun corners with a couple of oppurtunities for overtaking manoeuvres.
