....I bet you only went to TDF for a fluid change and then Dr Faulks started pouring honey in your ear and months later you ended up with a touring-car!!

Good luck mate and also with the car.

(Mines a TDF car and it keeps going back for more and more work, nothing like yours yet but not a 100 miles away)

James thanks for the kind words! Really pleased you are happy with the car, you have been the driving force between how it turned out with very specific requests for components, locations etc. Everyone that has seen it has been bowled over by it and it's so hard to put across on a forum via a few pics quite how serious it is. It really does look hard as nails and has the performance and engineering to back that up!

The switch box is definately my favourite part of it, plus the fact that we made it adjustable so as the seat moves the switchbox can.

One more shot of switch box with finished gear selector assembly:

    Top work chaps!

Weirdly my favourite 'part' of the build is the switch panel, particurally the re-location of the ignition barrel.

James wanted "a key" so we thought it rude not to use the orignal. The best bit is the special twist and press K'Egg style start sequence

Great car, see you at some of the CSCC meets too hopefully.

What are the advantages in having TDF spec "Long" AT Throttles over I guess the shorter ones out there? Not got bodies myself , yet.

Mid range torque mainly. We do a "motorsport" spec throttle package that has much longer trumpets with tapered runners that helps boost midrange torque. Not applicable for road cars with aircon as it fouls the slam panel/alternator/various other bits.

    s**t the bed! That's insane.

Is that a standard exhaust still? Looks long and I didn't see anything mentioned about a change.

Wish I had the money to pay someone to do all that, everything has been done so neat and cleanly it's unreal.

    Very nice.

Is it not possible to ditch the renault p.o.s gear mech all together?

I know colin and sandy did one for their peugeot many moons ago.

Nope very much not a standard exhaust. It's a single box system with the box located east - west across the rear of the car. Tailpipes are clip fit so if someone punts the arse of it during a race the tail pipes slide up the exhaust rather than push the exhaust forward and risk breaking mounts/manifold etc.

That dash is not far away from one of TBR's designs. Thank god the legal team is in Cuba.

Well we pretty much have. The only bit that is standard is the plastic cage the selector sits in, actually tell a lie we chopped that to lighten it so no standard bits. With some work and the odd spring clip you can really take the slop out of the standard linkage.

I think I might just have said "motorsport" spec throttle package, do I get a discount for being a test mule?
