done some more work on the car yesterday.
i properly undersealed the back end, so now its just a case of painting the underneath again and theres no more work to do on the back appart from fitting the diffuser to the bumper.
i also had a go at doing that yesterday too but my idea along with some expanding foam didnt really work that well but im going to try again before i give up and take it to a bodyshop. no pictures as that foam got everywhere!
i also had a final fitment of the manifold and the turbo in the bay to see where i have the space. i need to make a new actuator bracket and possibly turn the core of the turbo. this is how it will sit in the bay
with the strutt brace fitted...
the space between the turbo and the bulkhead, sort of...
and the rest...
bay needs another coat of paint because ive scratched it a bit at the back, and i seem to have missed a few bits
more proigress saturday hopefully![]()
Made some progress with the diffuser today, been sniffing fibreglass all day lol.
diffuser fitted and partially fibreglassed...
on the car...
the middle bit needs redoing due to the shape of the bumper and diffuser being diffrent
and ive attached spats on the bumper and started blending in the spats to the diffuser and the bumper, but i dont have any pics of this i will get some next time...

no one intrested in my car thenlol
Nice idea with the diffuser, can't wait to see it finished!
unique at least![]()
well having given up last week on marrying these 2 items together due to my lack of skill with bodywork etc. i went arond some bodyshops to pay to get it done.
1 day of searching and 3 bodyshops looking at me funny and i decided i was getting nowhere so i was gonna have to suck it up and do it myself! and after 2 days messing about they were finally together today with only a bit left to do...
before it was stuck together and just offered up to each other...
and done minus the spats and a bit more filler...
more progress end of the week with it hopefully being sent to the paintshop next week for paint![]()
well after god knows how many hours on this little venture the end is near!
fibreglassed the spats to the bumper to give me the extra length to the bumper that i needed and made some makeshift bits for the gap between the spats and the diffuser giving me roughly the shape i want for the bottom of the bumper leaving me with this...
ingore the ginger
Then i slapped a load of filler on it and sanded it roughly.
i havent gone nuts with this stage im going to take it to the bodyshop in a few weeks to have the finishing touches on it, i.e filler and painted properly as im likley to **** up the filling process.
then i had to fit it to the car for a test
now all that is needed is a few brackets on the car to hold the underneath of the diffuser up, somewhere here...
and to sort out the little issue of the filler pipe...
here is non filler side...
and on the filler side you can see the filler pipe is slightly blocking the exhaust exit
so thats the next 2 issues to sort then some heatsheilding for a custom exhaust and i can start with the more exiting things![]()
i have just sat and read that from start to finish.....well impressed! your a clever boy!!
question though, what are the brembos from your fitting?
cheers
theyre from a fiat coupe. my mate had a set and good disks lying about so he offered them to me for about £100 i think. worth a go for that price
thats my next venture, to get the thing back on 4 wheels!
can anyone offer advice on scuttle inductions?
it looks like the easiest option for me is to cut a hole in the bulk head and have a filter in the scuttle where the battery used to sit but im unsure on air flow?
i like this thread a lotreally great work m8

thanks fastdanbarits nice to know my work is appreciated
i dont want to modify the bonnet at all if i can help it, worst i want to do with that is put some aero catches on it.
i have 2 options with induction. stick it through the bulkhead into the scuttle, or route it around the turbo somehow back to the gearbox side of the car and find a cold air feed as usual
Hate to know how much you've spent on Spray Cans :P
Great read though mate. Can't wait to see it finished.
I'd say about £90 lol
I buy in bulk so it doesn't cost too much. Still have loads left too![]()
Thanks![]()
Hi, looking good mate,
Can I ask where is the diffuser from and what car is it for and how much was it??
-- I want one!!!
It's off a Clio 197 cost me 100 Dollah on eBay and it's cost me about £50 in brackets, fibreglass and filler to get it to fit and an unreal amount of man hours to do it, a huge favour from my welder mate and I think I'm looking at another £150 for some brackets, a custom fuel filler pipe and the bumper and diffuser painted
I have a megane 2 wondering how much modification it'd need to get it to fit.. I did have one on tgat was for the megane bbut it was too small and just looked daft.. Yours looks much better!!
I had to cut my wheel well out and stuff to get mine to fit, I think ktec do a bumper with a diffuser already fitted for a Megane 2 so try them
