Corsica rep from Rally Design. Not quite the OMP quality but at 50notes its a bargain. Do a leather one (what i have) Or a swede one too.

Re: Project OEM Chavbox. Alot of Pictures
Righty o
Lets bump this bad boy up.....
As mentioned my friend who did my MOT said that the headgasket is starting to leak and oil is mixing with the water.
This was quite a big spanner in the works tbh as i was planning on getting the car into the bodyshop this month.
Having a car that works is a higher priority than it looking nice.
Im hoping to have the car's bodywork done by fcs but its going to be very tight.
Anyway, the car is off tommorow for a week away
Having the full works as it were:
Head off and stripped
Head dipped and skimmed
Valves re ground in with new seals
New head bolts
new head gasket
inlet & exhaust gasket's
Oil change
Coolant change
Clean out all the pipes etc
Cam belt
Tensioner
Water pump
For the price im paying i could well of put a 16v lump in there but its not what this car is about. Its plently fast for me atm and with all this maintenance it should drive spot on again.
My ideal world would have been to pop a ph1 cam in and raceland mani at the same time but funds are tight.
Thanks alot for looking. hopefully have some updates in the form of a decat later in the week.

The R lump is still plenty fun enough dude. In mine i never once thought 'damn, i wish it was quicker'.
It's all about the twisty's anyway

Re: Project OEM Chavbox. Alot of Pictures

Re: Project OEM Chavbox. Alot of Pictures
Right, its been a while people. (4 months to be more accurate).
Quick update with what has been happening. As mentioned earlier the head has had a full rebuild and the car is running sweet as ever (only covered 1500 miles since the beginning of April!)
Theres a lil bit of progress so ill try and keep this short;
After the rebuild i got a decat pipe and fully heat wrapped it (not running any heat shields so it helps), and coupled this with group n hard rubber mounts.

This pipe sounds the nuts!!!! I am totally in love with the sound it makes. I have no video clips at the moment but im sure Fletcher, wonkystripedbandit, autoba and originalboyracer can back me up in this.
When i got the car in the air to fit the pipe i saw the drivers front arch was caked in oil. All the wheel / brakes / arch were dripping. The metal clip that hold the CV boot on and snapped open and the boot had slipped down the driveshaft. With a quick bodge it was off to a mates garage for a whole new driveshaft.
At this point FCS was drawing ever closer and even thought i keep my paint as clean as i can it had developed a fair bit of laquer peel on the front bumper over its life. So i booked it into a local bodyshop to get it sorted, however i got carried away and it got booked in for every panel to have some work done (bar the roof)!
It was done in time for FCS (just).....
The bodyshop work was as follows:
All parking dents removed from doors
Dents in wings removed
Dents in boot removed
Removed rear badges
Sprayed both doors / wings / rear quarters / boot / spoiler / bonnet / front bumper
All black trims sprayed in satin (more oem look, textured satin spray)
Also fitted carbon fog blanks, red snap off boss bolts just before FCS.
The car was a mission to get clean in the few days i had it before fcs but turned out to be all worth it, resulting in me picking up the FCS Special award on the Saxperience stand
Pics of fcs:

my ugly mug with my trophy

My speakers had been playign up for some time so next on my list was some sort of upgrade. My requirements were;
Had to be lightweight
Direct replacements to fit behind the standard speaker grille.
They had to be full range speakers (not comps) as i didn't want to mess around mounting a tweeter.
Had to be good enough to not need an amp to get any decent sound out of them. Don't want to go to the trouble of adding more weight with an amp etc.
I opted for some SPL Dynamic speakers and cannot rate them highly enough, build quality is top notch as is sound quality.

Oops
Just bought a PugSport Grp N Lower fork bush for the car and soon to be joined by a full set of VibraTechnics Fast Road engine mounts which should help transform the car.
